Thomas Vanek isn't the dominant force we expected him to be. (Update: sick/hurt?)

He's gotta be injured. At first I thought he was a lazy dog in the Tampa series, but from what I saw tonight it looks like he can't skate or do his normal strides. Hope Galchenyuk is better soon so we can take Vanek out.

So you mean to tell me a streaky scorer is streaky? Imagine that...

He seemingly had a handful of 10 second shifts. Something is up, that is not normal at all. Michel probably doesn't want to reveal anything to the media about it.

It would be a different story if he was showing some intensity, but he's not.

He looked pretty happy after Pacioretty scored winner last game. He wasn't playing well for the last little while but this game something happened IMO.

Either Michel doesn't want to reveal he's injured or he doesn't want to publicly throw him under the bus.

I think you guys are overthinking/overanalyzing body language through a TV set, personally.

I've been paying attention to his body language this entire playoffs and he definitely wasn't as pumped up as his teammates. Purely speculation tho.

I thought I saw him go down hard in the second behind the play, it was just as the camera panned. He was just as bad in the first though....

Watched most of the game tonight, he is definitely not his normal self. Looks injured, some kind of upper body injury I bet.

It is what it is. Literally every goalscorer goes through these stretches.

The thing is, his whole game he is a completist, he's gonna score goals, plenty of them, but he's not the type who's gonna take the puck and skate with it at one end of the ice to the other end and tonight the Bruins were all in the Habs's zone.

Therrien had him playing 4th line for a stretch last night. He's in a funk and the coach is sending him a wake-up call. I could be wrong but I doubt he's injured. He'll unleash before this series is over.

At worst, he's going through a little slump, I'm not worried

He has to be hurt. The Vanek from the beginning was one that stayed on for too long, a la Kovalev.

The one from last night was looking for the first chance to get off the ice.

Indeed, it was a great shift. It ended with Prust getting that great slap shot chance, right?

Unfortunately it was literally Vanek's only good shift in an 80+ minute hockey game so it's not going to get a whole lot of love

His ONLY good shift of the entire game. Vanek was perhaps the worst player on the ice yesterday ...

Maybe he does not match-up well against Bergeron, is all?
