You have to assume that a guy like him, who does all the little things well, would start scoring more. It baffles me every time that I see him. He looks like a legit player on the ice, but he just never seems to rack up the points.

Troy Vance scored a goal, but Charlottetown got blown out 11-3. His CHL career and season are over.

Nick Paul scored a goal, but North Bay loses. They're down 3-1.

Sudbury wins to push the series to 3-1.

Cody Payne's season is over. Scott White mentioned he was someone they are watching. Time to watch to see if he signs an ATO with Texas and possibly an ELC with Dallas.

Perhaps he can join Texas on an ATO, and his play/practice with the team can help them decide if he should get an ELC.

No kidding, at first I thought it was just a fluke that he looked good whenever I watched him, but after 20+ games I don't think that's the case. It will be interesting to see how his game changes having Willie Desjardins as his coach, he seems to have a way with bringing out the best in the young guys.

You know your season has been rough when Branden Troock is considered "healthy" compared to you.

We tend to say similar things about a fair number of NHL players who just never put up numbers. Not saying it won't happen for him but some guys just bury the chances and some guys don't.

G. Smith checks in at #9 in this HF article on the best OHL wingers that have been drafted.

Ully also made #9 on the WHL list. Troock gets an honorable mention.

Don't think there's any doubt about that.

I'd say yes. With the development that Nill seems to be spearheading negotiations rather than having a dedicated guy in Hockey Ops like they use too, it makes sense now that these deals waited to the end of the season.

He has until June 1st, 2 full months, to sign these guys.

They should honestly sign them now and get them down to Texas or even Dallas and have them shadow the team. I know it's been done.

???

Gemel Smith is playing in the Memorial Cup. He's not going to be done with junior until probably after the AHL finals start.

Scott White already said they are considering that with other prospects that need a deal like Payne and Troock. All of them could sign an ATO before an ECL so there's no hurry honestly.

Hasn't been mentioned yet I don't think, but is is telling that Payne gets a mention and Winther didn't .. or did I miss his name?

Oh. I forgot Smith was playing the MC. He has a month and a half off between now and Mem Cup. He can probably do with a break from playing and just come down for a week or so.

I don't expect Smith to play now. More along the lines of "here's your contract, we're showing you what we expect of you, show us good play at the MC... and if you suck at the MC you get sent to the ECHL... make the most of it"... I dunno.

Sudbury down 5-0. End of 2nd.

As Faksa's junior career ends, I can't help but hope Dallas gets lucky twice, and like Campbell, Radak is a better pro than junior player. He has one of the more interesting stories in hockey, and that size, skill combo should at least turn into a better than average 3rd center ... at least you'd hope it would.

I really want to see Mueller go to wing to make room for Radek full time in the lineup at center ... no wing.

London hasn't been eliminated. It just seems that way after dealing with a huge suspension to their starting goaltender. I think one of their players broke a leg last game too.

Now, they will likely get destroyed in the next round, and I'm sorry because Starry Knight seems like a good dude but I hope it happens. They are probably playing Guelph next, and pulling for Dickinson and Smith both to make the Memorial Cup.

Back to the long layoff ... Stransky faced that situation for real last year. His team isn't going to let him leave to go watch practices in Austin when he should be taking part in practice with London getting ready for the Memorial Cup. It's just not a realistic option.

Swedish story ... Sweden will not try and stop Klingberg, among others, from coming to North America, but they do want Klingberg to play for them in the World Championships. They've left the decision to him, and I guess Dallas. If he wants a spot on the WC team, it's his.

Klingberg confirms he's coming to North America..... next season. We all knew this, but here it is from the man that matters.

No mention of his plans at the moment yet.

Guelph and Jason Dickinson advance in 5 to play London next round. In 5 games, Dickinson scores 3 goals and 4 assists.

Nick Paul scores 2 goals to help North Bay live to fight another day. They trail 3-2 in their series. Paul has 4 goals in 5 games.

I can't remember if someone mentioned this, but Nick Paul was named by the coaches as the 3rd best faceoff guy in his conference.

Faksa's junior career unceremoniously comes to an end after an embarrassing 7-0 loss.

On a positive note, Faksa was even, and he was only on the ice for a 5 on 3 PP goal against.

I get this feeling that Klingberg is going to choose Worlds and that Dallas will let him.
