Peter "Petey" Regin

Plenty of discussion will come up regarding Regin, so let's have a seperate thread.

He was very disappointed when he was sent down to the Hogs, now let's hope he plays with a purpose and shows he should be here.

Interested to see how he does this time around. Liked what I saw of him here previously.

I like Regin. Runs like an engine, always gives a great effort.

Like TK said, he always gives a great effort. He's also versatile enough to play center or wing, and he is reliable on the ice.

Sure, he isn't a Sharpie, but for his cap hit, Regin is a steal.

He's definitely an "energy" player, and I truly believe that having him in the lineup will consciously or subconsciously get the other guys going throughout the game.

Yup, hawks could use more energy guys who are willing to get dirty goals. Especially when said player is fighting to stay with the team.

That's why I like the Regin-Richards-Morin line. Two guys itching to contribute and a vet to help them along. Will be watching closely Friday.

So you don't want Richards to have any success?

Regin is a mediocre hockey player and Morin has been a complete disappointment this year (Dating back to start of camp)

Not much to discuss about Regin. He wasn't good enough to play on bad Islander team last year and isn't good enough to be on Hawks roster this year

I love how you felt the need to add that. I don't mind giving Richards a shot on this line to see how it turns out.

I wouldn't call Morin a disappointment as of late. He has had good zone presence and has been shooting the puck. I think Richards could be a big help for him.

I don't like Richards having to play down anymore than you do, but right now Q is obviously set on keeping Shaw where he is. And since that is the case I am interested in the Richards line on Friday.

Those be some oddball line combos, but Q gonna Q.

I am interested to see that 4th line in action though although it's not really a traditional 4th line. Hopefully Q gives them more than 5 minutes.

That's my thought. That is about as good of a fourth line as you will find. I would guess they'll get decent opportunity to show something.

Regin's versatile and plays a simple game with a bit of skill. He's an ideal extra forward.

I like Regin. I liked his game when he was up here last year. Had he been in all playoffs, we probably would have had a better chance.

Failed NHL talent. Horrid player. No place in the NHL. Ever.

Had he played against the Kings instead of Handzus we'd be the defending Stanley Cup Champs. I really don't get why we called him up, given Q has an obvious bias against him. I really thought it would be someone else.

He's a player who was criminally underutilized once brought over last year. Thanks Q.

Reegs or Reger would be what I expected. Hockey players aren't exactly the most creative bunch.

I don't think it was as much a bias against him as bias for other players, like Handzus, which you mentioned.
