McNeill's a good player. He can fill an Andew Ladd-type role on the Hawks (when Ladd was here). I don't know that he'll make the team next year, but I really wouldn't be surprised if any of McNeill, Hartman, Danault, Etc. made the team. Any of them could win a spot.

I just don't see where they fit in on the current roster. A guy like Nordstrom will find it hard to get into the lineup, and he's probably more polished for a bottom-six role than McNeill, Hartman or Danault.

2015-2016 is where their real opportunities will come. The bottom 6 could see a huge shakeup if Bowman decides he wants to purge the depth again like 2010 to keep the core together and go with a youth movement.

I see Nordstrom having slightly more offensive upside than Kruger. He's the guy I see taking Kruger's spot after next year, or perhaps Danault. Danault appears another 1-2 years away still.

I don't see anything special in Kruger. Just a heady Swede who makes the most out of his skill set. I see Nordy taking that development curve. Whether he'll be as effective as Kruger, I guess we'll see.

Nordstrom doesn't have Kruger's hockey sense. He's got better wheels, size and arguably hands, but he doesn't think the game at a high enough level to be an impactful scorer.

As an energy player, he'll be useful. A PK guy who you can throw out there to defend a lead (eventually).

As far as McNeill/Danault/Hartman - I'm certainly not expecting any of them to make the roster, but I wouldn't at all be surprised if one of them did and if they all had strong showings in camp.

It's tough to know without seeing what moves are made, but I don't see any room for the kids at forward.

Nordstrom sucks.

Nordstrom is terrible on faceoffs and is by far the easiest Chicago Blackhawks forward to get knocked on his arse. Nordstrom's defense is vastly overrated and provides little to no offense whatsoever.

You have to be kidding?

http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/roste...cation=/roster

Nordstrom - 6'1", 160 pounds (the ultimate NHL toothpick)

Put a fan on low speed setting, watch Nordstrom get knocked over.

Larmsy, do you honestly believe Nordstrom is 160Lbs? And last I checked, was 6'1" not bigger than 5'11.5"?

LOL! Teuvo Teravainen weighs more than Joakim Nordstrom.

169 lbs versus 160 lbs

As for Joakim Nordstrom, he is nothing more than a fourth line center for the Rockford Icehogs:

Teravainen
Rasmussen
Broadhurst
Danault

Nordstrom
Leblanc

What is the deal with this Le-Blah guy, and what did the Hawks see in him ? Cap-geek says he makes 600,000 next year, and I get the impression he has almost no chance of making the team ?

I don't think Teuvo actually weighs 169 anymore. That was his draft weight...and i find it difficult to believe he's stayed the same since he was 17.

Hawks were desperate for a C prospect who might be able to develop quickly. Didnt cost a pick. No loss and worth the signing to see what develops. Finding a potential NHLr who has been passed in the draft like Shaw is a rarity.

Yeah, that was a no brainer signing - no risk whatsoever.

Again, Larmsy, do you honestly believe either of those weights are accurate? Both are the weights of the players when they were drafted and it's very clear, just by looking at Nordstrom, that's he's not 160lbs.
