Two of my Canadian Forces family members (RCRs) are dead. Killed by a land mine outside of Kabul. Three others are seriously injured. My heart goes out to the family and friends of the injured and deceased, as well as my friend Glen, who is stationed in Kabul and has the daunting task of investiagting the incident.
Sorry to hear about that.
The full force of the allies should have stayed in Afghanistan to thouroughly flush out the problem elements and clean up that disaster area far better.
I can think of at least a dozen spots that are infinitely more of a breeding ground for terrorism than Iraq.
It's too bad about your friends and colleagues.
Hopefully the troops there will get better support forthright to better continue the mission(s).
Nicely put Taz. It has got to be a nightmare in that Country right now.
Whether we - as Americans or Canadians - believe we should or shouldn't be there (or other places for that matter), it is very important to support our brave troops. These brave and highly trained individuals face duties and nightmarish tasks on a daily basis, and as we live together in relative peace - it is ultimately important that we all remember how that is arrived by.
