What I want:

Kunitz-Crosby-Bennett
Jokinen/Stempniak-Malkin-Neal
Jokinen/Stempniak-Sutter-Gibbons/Goc
Megna-Vitale/Goc-Gibbons/Vitale

Scuderi-Letang
Despres-Martin
Maatta-Nisky

But what will see is exactly what IcedCapp posted. There's no doubt in my mind.

Not liking people putting Stemp and Bennett on the off wing.

Kunitz-Crosby-Stemp
Jokinen-Malkin-Neal
Goc-Sutter-Bennett
Glass-Vitale-Adams (this line would look much better with Gibbons and Pyatt/Megna IMO)

Scuderi-Martin
Maatta-Nisky
Orpik-Bort
Despres

Don't expect Letang back. If he is, then you can bump Bort out of the top 6.

Bennett can handle LW just fine. I still think:

Kunitz-Crosby-Stempniak
Bennett-Malkin-Neal

is our best option when it comes to the Top-6 this season, regardless of how it actually plays out.

Agreed. Then Jokinen-Sutter-Gibbons isn't terrible as a third line. Obviously not the type of shutdown line you might want out of a third line but they would hopefully at least provide some secondary scoring.

Against Columbus DB will roll with that. He'll want to play his heavy guy in Pyatt over Gibbons. When Goc is back. Vitale comes out. DB will only take Gladams out when we're in danger of losing a series.

What I'd do? Play to our damn strengths and go with speed and skill throughout the lineup.

Kunitz-Sid-Stempniak
Beau-Geno-Neal
Jokinen-Sutter-Gibbons
Megna-Goc-Vitale
Agreed. We will see the bolded in the first round, though I'd much rather prefer the second lineup. Don't think we'll see Bennett on Geno's LW for the simple reason that Geno is out til the playoffs, and BB will have no experience playing on that line. If Geno can get a game or two in before the first round, I would hope Bylsma uses that to test BB there.

I like how some people have Glass, Adams and Pyatt all sitting.

Good luck with that.

"Heavy" means slow (very slow in Pyatt's case).

ColePens Coaching:
Kunitz-Crosby-Stemp
Bennett-Malkin-Neal (you can flip these two if it makes sense)
Goc-Sutter-Jokinen
Gibbons-Vitale-Megna

Speed kills. Tenacity and speed to cover up defensive zone woes.

Bylsma Coaching:
Kunitz-Crosby-Stempniak
Jokinen-Malkin-Neal
Pyatt-Sutter-Beau
Glass-Goc-Adams

Vitale, Gibbons, Megna all sit.

The new coach will have the same pets as Bylsma?

Kunitz-Crosby-Stempniak
Bennett/Jokinen-Malkin-Neal
Jokinen/Bennett-Goc-Megna
Gibbons-Sutter-Vitale

Is what I'd like but Megna will be swapped for Pyatt and Gibbons/Vitale for Adams/Glass,

Martin-Orpik
Niskanen-Maatta
Scuderi-Despres
Engelland/Bortuzzo

What new coach?

(and let me save myself some time: show me where I said there would be a new coach and show me where I said what the conditions were and show me where the Penguins met any of those conditions)

If you don't mind...I must have missed the original conversation and have seen something being referenced for the last few days..... can you relay again what you heard/said?

If Bennett doesn't play with Sid now, then there is a 90% chance that Dupuis will be L1RW next year.

Hasn't there been a recent quote where Dan was saying how he wants Juice to gel with Sutter? I think I remember reading that. I think that's a positive, meaning Bennett will most likely be with Geno/Neal

Stempniak's a better player than Dupes. As long as he continues to play well and we get him re-signed, I'm not worried about it.

Na I think that was speculation on the Trib's part. But Beau can and should be able to outplay Juice. I'd be alot more comfortable with Jokinen in a depth role where he faces lesser opposition.

If I may offer a re-cap ...

Roughly the middle of last week, Madden tweeted about an SI article that mentioned a rumor that Bylsma might be out of a job soon.

There was some speculation as to how reliable the SI guy is, and IcedCapp posted that he didn't know how reliable the guy was, but that rumor was going around and the next few days would determine what would happen.

As it turned out, the team started playing better and it seems that Bylsma will be around through the playoffs.

Absolutely Bennett should be in the top 6. And Juice and Sutter will be effective against bottom pairings, especially if you give them Megna or Gibbons.

Apart from not believing for a minute that Goc plays another game in this uniform, this is probably right.

That's a lot of 'ifs' there. There's absolutely no guarantees Stempniak will be here next year. I really don't think Stempniak would be enough to stop Bylsma from putting Duper back on that line anyways. I also dont think it's a given that Shero even wants to sign him considering he basically said he wouldn't be here if Dupuis wasn't hurt. And I know we disagree pretty strongly on the issue, but I don't want Stempniak as Sid's winger next season either.

In my opinion, ColePens coaching gets the lines CORRECT -- a very nice lineup IMO, that this team could win with. Meanwhile, in my opinion, ColePens forecast of HCDB's lines is a CORRECT FORECAST, unfortunately.

This is the basics of it, more-or-less.

I would like to point out that I had PMed someone about the situation before the Madden tweet (or at least before I was aware of it, because I don't follow Madden) and I wasn't going to say anything publicly. But then I saw rumors and whispers from outside sources, so I felt more comfortable at least confirming what others were saying.
