If the Preds do go for a GT, McLennan or Hnilicka may not be bad...However, I hope they'd release Flats and rotate Lasak and Finley.

I'm not a big fan of platooning Finley and Lasak in Milwaukee. It might help Lasak but will hurt Finley. He's too good for the ECHL and needs a full season or two in the AHL. He can't get a full season if he is sharing duty with Lasak. It will set him back some at the cost of what? A game or two a year?

If we are going to pick a goalie, I hope it's Jean-Marc Pelletier. He's a year older than Lasak and was very good for Springfield last year in the A (2.37 GAA, 9.23 save %). He's never been given a legitimate shot in the NHL (3 career games played) and he might be a diamond in the rough type.

Not sure how backup ready he is. He might be injury prone.

what about defensemen? i think pavel trnka from florida would be a pretty solid addition...florida fans like him, but say there simply wasn't room for him, this year. todd simpson would also be a good pickup, but i'm not sure how much he makes.

Might not be a bad pickup. Give him a shot and then if not, waive him

It's amazing how many ex-Preds are on the waiver wire.

Joel Bouchard, Dominic Pittis, Bubba Berenzweig, Rob Valicevic, Mark Mowers, Chris Mason, Jon Sim, Jason Beckett, Eric Fichaud, Reid Simpson, Richard Lintner, Pascal Trepanier, and Marc Moro. That's 13 of the top of my head. You could field a really bad team of Ex-Preds on the waiver wire.

Did Rich Brennan ever play here? For some reason, I thought he did.

Anyways, I was thinking the same thing...it's pretty clear how much we've improved in just a few short years.

Every time I agree with you it scares me even more

Trnka would be worth a look. 6-2, 200lbs, can score a little.

I think Simpson makes between 1.5 and 2 mill. Is he worth it?

I would take a REAL long look at Todd Simpson, if he's available. This guy is a solid defensive d-man. I have a feeling he'll be gone though.

I also would look at Tnkra.

My thoughts exactly. I suppose it was a money issue. Either that, or they have completely lost it.
