So, How I Met Your Mother ended. Didn't like the ending at all.

In any case, it was a great series. Probably one of my all-time favourites. I'm gonna miss watching the newest episode every Tuesday morning.

So...umm...isn't a "memorial" supposed to be for when someone is dead, not retired? Shouldn't this just be a retirement edition?

I don't think we want to jinx Gopher or anything here...

From the last thread,

We got pre-approved through First Equity Mortgage, which was recommended to us by our realtor. The advice our loan officer gave us was to pay down our credit cards to about 50% of limit, pay credit cards a few days early, and pay at least a few dollars above the minimum. That all boosts your credit score.

Beyond that, it's just saving up for the down payment. You need at least 3.5% down for an FHA loan plus another 2-3% for prepay of PMI, property taxes, HOI, and other fees.

Our loan guy gave us two options, one was to have the seller pay up to 3% in closing costs, which would allow us to get a lower interest rate, and have the 3.5% total needed to close. The other was if we paid closing costs, but then take a higher interest rate to get a larger borrower's credit, but we'd have to bring closer to 4% to closing. And of course we'd have higher payments since we're borrowing more.

But we're still really early in the process, so I don't understand everything.

Hahaha, yup. All these whippersnappers talking about what number thread they showed up for. I remember when there were no numbers, just a "General OT Thread"! And Wild tickets were $20, but you had to walk 45 miles in the snow to get there. Uphill both ways!

Can't even remember what it came from anymore. Think Dan came up with the title somewhere, but I'm not 100% sure.

Also kind of miss only using my mod powers for posting Jay Z's "On to the Next One" at the end of a OT thread that was already closed. No wonder I died for the second time in this OT stretch.
