Jim Hughson comes in fourth.

Obviously, I can't access these voices locally(Maryland), so it's all from watching crappy streams....
Jack is a huge homer, but he's a professional when it comes to hockey background, knowing names and players, and calling general PBP. As far as when he deems his opinion is needed...yuck. Even for a Bruins fan, he will sometimes go shamefully over the top (although he has trimmed that down significantly, especially this season).

Bob Cole is a habs fan. I like Cuthbert, Cole and Gord Miller. Really hoping Cole does the playoffs

I think Pierre Houde is great. I like the Caps commentator and the NBC one as well !

I'm probably forgetting some, but these are the ones I prefer I guess.

RJ is great. I really like Joe Bowen as well, he's so enthusiastic every single time, it's great. Also the guy who does colour commentary for New Jersey is awesome, he is the Huell Howser of hockey.

Bob Cole.
Chris Cuthbert.

Hughston sucks, his over pronunciation of names annoys me along with his pro Toronto bag lickery.

Used to be Cole but he doesn't know who's on the ice half the time anymore

Cuthbert & Hughson are probably tops

Gord Miller would be good too if he quit saying shutout midway through the 3rd and Healey would be good if he quit saying anything

You're wrong.

Cole grew up a Montreal Canadiens fan and was also a big fan of the Red Wings because he loved Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay.

My Favorite right now is Pat Foley from the Hawks.. love watching games on WGN. he does a great job with Eddie O. 10 years ago Bob Cole was the best for sure. i really enjoy Chris Cuthbert and his famous "Oh Did You See That". Cuthbert also did broadcast 14 of our 20 games in the 93 run.

I love Gord Miller also from TSN.

Rosen and JD were also great although I never really listen to NYR games , I like the "it's a Power Play Goal" from Rosen and the " Oh Baby" from JD.

I believe Cole probably likes the Leafs at least just a little bit. I didn't capture the stream feed, but the Swedish satellite feed back then broadcasted what commentators say while on commercial break, and he was asking for the score of the Leafs game or something during intermission(he was calling Habs games).

It wouldn't surpise me if he has some sort of attachment to the leafs after calling their games for so long.

Cole must be a case of nostalgia - his voice must sound like Hockey to you guys, because as a frenchie, I cannot stand Cole. He misses plays a lot, says names weirder than Cherry and seems lost. He just seems too slow now to follow the play entirely.

I have this problem with Baseball. Griffin is clearly a good Baseball commentator, but if the game doesn't have Rodger speaking, it doesn't feel like Baseball.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Houde. He follows the play fairly well, has good emotion (he can make F1 interresting, that's a big win right there!) and clearly makes an effort to be well informed of what's happening in the league. He makes me dread what the playoffs will be next year at TVA Sports. I mean, Michel Langevin isn't in the same league as Houde and Pedneault's worse than he used to be, Denis is better in every way.

I prefer Cuthbert as far as english broadcasting goes.
