The ATO is done so they can play in the AHL and there is no intention of having them play in the NHL this year. The ATO basically covers him for the rest of 13/14 season.

That was the way it was structured so it basically takes effect in 14/15 and then runs for 3 years.

Playing in Buffalo would burn the first year of ELC----as it does with McCabe and it did for Ruhwedel.

Also---this structure means his contract does not count toward the 50 contract max Buffalo has for 13/14 season---it will count for 14/15 season.

I'll be happy if he can get his defensive game up to a level and play the role (younger) Jerred Smithson used to provide in Nashville. Own end face-offs, PK and a bit of sandpaper in between. Anything more is a bonus.

Nice, hopefully we're looking at a future 4th line center here. Definitely worthy of one of the 50 roster spots, though, even if he doesn't pan out.
