why don't we just fire every player that does not score 1 goal per game
why don't we fire MT
why don't we just MB
why don't we just win every game 10-0 with ALL fights.
why don't we just sign players to work for free.
why don't we just demand the NHL award the Habs the Cup every year before the first game.

this was one game and a ton of you are going NUTS.

It's okay to be concerned obviously but its so dumb the people who flip flop every game........ You shouldn't go from thinking serious contender (not saying I thought that) to thinking 1st round exit after 1 poor game. (you didn't im talking about other people)
Sure, but you shouldn't even waste your time with the bipolar fans. You'll enjoy this board a lot more if you can just ignore them.

Sit Murray? More like leave him out as bait in game one for easy PP's.

Face it.

2 evenly matched teams in the PO.

Its a coin toss.

Keys to winning?

Coaching strategy
Bench management
Goaltending
Team focus
Determination & Grit
Clean passing
Opportunism
Strong PP & PK
Calm in the face of adversity
Timely lucky bounces
Avoiding key injuries
Emergence of a hero(es)

The usual.

I know this is a horrible thing to say.. but if you're gonna throw a cheap shot like this, why not aim for a better player than Kostka... I'm sorry

I would sit Murray and Bouillon, Play Tinordi and Gorges, also play Briere at the point in the 2nd PP unit.

The Habs will need to stay out of the box and find something that resembles a competent PP again. I won't hold my breath on the competent PP thing happening at this point though after 4 months of suck.

If Habs lose embarrassingly, hopefully they have some good excuses. Murray was suspended does not count.

Was it a terrible game by the Habs? Yes! absolutely.

Its 1 game.. Means absolutely nothing.. We won 8 out of the last 9.

They could come out and win 5-0 game 1. Who knows.. This game means absolutely nothing, But as always over analyze it and give up on the year.... See ya in the next GDT lol.. where the same people who are ******** on them now will call them Cup champs after a W.

I'm so glad the Habs fans in my life don't act like this haha.

Go Habs Go! Series will be 4-1 Habs. Book it
Same here. I refuse to get worried after one game. Playoffs will be different. I'd rather win the playoff series than a regular season game.

I don't see the lightning as a big threat, showing up to play might help

It's not after one game. We have problem scoring goal.. at even strength.. and our PP is not as good as it used to be. Bishop has a goal average under 1 in 4 games against us this season. It's been 5 years that we have all the trouble in the world to score goals in the playoffs.

I really don't know which Habs will show in the playoffs. The Habs that has a dominant 1st line and decent 2nd line... or the Habs that gets completely shut down offensively like all the previous year.

I think you,re way off base. Posters around here have been saying 1st round exit all along. Actually, most said no playoffs at all.

Remember, this is the fire Therrien, trade Bouillon and have Desharnais abducted by aliens site

I think we match up real well with T-Bay, but we need Gorges, Prust, Moen and Weise back. If we have our full lineup, we're good.

Better lose now then lose in po's we.need to adjust. What some of.you guys don't understand is.that it was a.loss.vs.Tampa not a non significant team. We.can't win them all.if.we.lost to Winnipeg I.cud.of.cared less

This series will expose our two biggest weakness, our lack of size and lousy coaching. They need to get bodies in front of Bishop and make his life miserable. He had it very easy tonight. One again Therrien will be out coached by a Jack Adams nominee.

Some hope:

Was at the Tampa game back in late December where Eller won it in the shoot out.

Best line that night?

Prust - White - Moen

Dominated possession time, created turnovers and chances and wore down Tampa's defense. Therrien actually leaned on them a lot that night.

Here is to a healthy return......

Gally's fine. I know he's never going to back down.

Bishop doesn't have our number, we don't test him. But we don't test him because of what you just said...
Gionta was one of our better forwards last game. Ever since Therrien put him in a defence-first role on the 3rd line, Gio's been playing some great hockey. You don't need to worry about him in the playoffs.

Our problem is our inability to score vs big strong tight checking teams. Our top line featured 2 floaters who wouldn't go to the net or to the boards last night. To score on Bishop, you need someone infront of the net. Vanek can't be winning battles along the boards AND causing havoc infront of the net. This line will fail in a playoff series vs Tampa, Boston, or Philly.

If we beat Tampa, it'll be thanks to depth scoring and special teams.

The box. Stay away from the freaking box. Three in the box with 3 mins to go...not even going to mention the turnovers and breakaways.

We clinched. So I hope we give Price rest, so should it be budaj against Senators or Red Wings?

I hope they rest Price against Senators...they love to crash the net and run into Price.

Not playing Bouillon with Subban would be a great start.
