Lightning may be forced to trade St. Louis

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/story?id=2136994

Will Tampa Bay have to trade Martin St. Louis or someone else due to Salary Cap?

The article above says that the Vincent Lecavalier contract signed for ($27.5 million over four years with the Tampa Bay Lightning), jeopardizes the long-term future of Martin St. Louis and Brad Richards in Tampa.

Seems like the salary cap is working. Teams will have to decide how to manage it. Either have several high priced star players and a lot of average players or try for the balanced team with less stars.

You also may want to read this. http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/story/8745552

Let's see what works best.

Well, they've already been forced to allow Khabibulin walk due to the realities of the cap. Get used to it .... there will be more where that came from.
