Burrows hit on McDonagh, Receives Death Threats on Twitter

Looks like McDonagh may be hurt. Drove him into the boards, from behind pretty much with the game over.

Elbow to the shoulder is apparently a 5 min major.

5 minute major for elbowing....elbow to what...shoulder?

For the record it really sucks to see him get injured but it seemed like a pretty innocent/standard play.

Got to be the weakest hit that has ever caused an injury... not sure how it was an elbowing penalty...

What else do you expect from a player like Burrows? A team falling into irrelevance needs to drag those heading into the playoffs down with them somehow.

edit: The Canuck defense brigade has already arrived. Swift

Wasn't from "behind" but it still was a head shot / up high from the looks of it. Which still qualifies him for the POS award.

He's already being tied up by Kassian. Anything but a legal play.

that was the cleanest hit I've ever seen. Refs are blind.

Not from behind. McDonagh just got caught in a bad spot between two players and looks like his shoulder got caught wrong.

From the initial replays on TSN, it looked clean to me. They called it elbowing but I didn't see much of an elbow and it wasn't from behind.

McDonagh was paying more attention to Kassian and Burrows caught McDonagh by surprise.

Hope McDonagh's ok though.

Need another replay.

Wasn't from behind, wasn't in the head, doubt there was an elbow.

He slammed his shoulder hard into the boards and he wasn't expecting the hit.

Think it was clean but need to see another replay, tough luck for the Rags

Which was nonsense. Burrows' elbow never came up. McDonagh was hurt because Kassian had him tied up and Burrows went in to check.

Need to see a replay but of the few I saw it looked perfectly legal, just an unfortunate result.

Regardless, I bet Shanny suspends him for the rest of the year.

McDonagh didn't see him, and was being checked into the boards already, and then Burrows comes in full speed and blindsides him. No reason for that.
