It will be an interesting year...some of those guys have played a lot of AHL hockey already and will definitely be making a push. Making the playoffs would be nice.

He's got decent hands but poor IQ (both offensively and defensively) and vision. An average shot and (from what I've seen) not great eye-hand in front of the net. He absolutely improved nearing the end of the year but he'll need to take a page out of the "PK Subban Book of Increased Development" if he wants to ever be a top-9 complimentary player.

I don't and have never seen the top-6 upside to Michael McCarron.
Keep your eyes open then, next season will definitely be a better year for McCarron and the London Knights in general, just a bit of wisdom gained over almost 60 yrs of watching these young players develop. I was surprised that the Hunter's didn't make him a center right away, from watching him play in the USNTDP, it seemed obvious it was his comfort zone.

Because they need to adjust. Most people begin hockey at an early age, but McCarron most likely hit 6'5 in his early teens so he's only been playing "big" for a couple years. You see the same thing in the NBA.

Drew McIntyre is staying in Toronto for sure no chance he moves. He's played well enough to earn a NHL back-up role (for the Leafs) or just be a mentor in AHL.

Is it certain that DLR is gonna be in the AHL?

Also I'm excited to see the Bennett-Pateryn pairing again.

JDLR has as much chance as any rookie, to break into the lineup including Nygren. So Beaulieu, Pateryn and Tinordi all have their work cut out for them this summer!

It's about time he leaves...and I'm not going to complain about it since I've been asking for that to happen....20 years ago.

Yet.....if Tokarski is our #2....we have a serious problem to fix. I will believe that Bergevin will be able to convince Tokarski to go back as a 60-game starter in the AHL (hear that Lefebvre, you dumbass...). And he'll be with us in 2 years. It's a great challenge for Tokarski to be the centerpiece of maybe the first playoffs for Hamilton in a few years.

He needs to convince all the others 29 teams to not pick him on waivers too.

I'm still disappointed we didn't sign Vail.

Vail had two full seasons to prove worthy of a contract, he failed.

Frankly, I don't see how he failed. Great reports all over. Improved his stats and 2-way play. He actually failed at 2 places. At the start of the year at our development camp where he was terrible. And making the US team where tons of people thought he had a great chance. He really failed there. But didn't fail anywhere else. Habs just chose that despite a great season, they had no room for him or....because of other reasons we don't know. Has nothing to do with him failing, at least not on the ice.

You might even see DLR get 2-3 NHL games next year

I think they like him that much

It has to be a problem of attitude/ off ice issue. That guy should have never been available in the 4th round, talent-wise.

The Bulldogs will be a far better and well balanced team next season, at least on paper. If Crisp, Nevins, JDLR, Hudon, Carr, Bennett, Thrower and Bozon live up to their potentials it's a certainty. The Dogs will have depth throughout the lineup, with size, talent, and offensive potential with these prospects added to a now veteran team.

I'm ecstatic about the upcoming season, renewing my AHL/Neulion acct. again, both teams are capable of making the playoffs!!!!

If he didn't have this hype/decent showing in the playoffs he'd have easily passed through waivers. Now, it's highly likely some team with a goalie injury claims him immediately.

Which makes me think he is going to start the season with the Canadiens or is going to be traded. I am sure MB will not take the chance of losing him on a waiver call up.

You can't lose players on a waiver call-up, only when sending a player down

Oh I did not know they changed that rule....good to know. Thanks. I like this new rule haha

So they still could lose him if they send him down at the end of training camp...so I still believe he starts with the big club or is traded.

I think he'll be a better Pro because he already plays like a Pro. Unlike a lot of junior scorers, he will not lose his advantage over the others in the Pros, he'll still be towering most players. The type of goals he scores are goals that are scored in the Pros. He also excels in very important aspects of hockey in the NHL, keeping the puck away from your opponent, winning puck battles. He knows what he has to do, he drives the net, he engages physically and he's the first man in on the forecheck.
I think this is a really good point. A lot of players can dominate smaller competition, and wilt when they get to the pros, but McCarron will be bigger than most NHLers, and if he adapts right, his size alone will give him an advantage. You can teach many of the fundamentals that he may be missing, but size you cannot teach. Time will tell.

You guys need to lower your expectations of DLR .. I love him like you guys but he had 13pts in 49gp in SHL so I doubt we see him in nhl for atleast 2-3yrs.
