(Oct. 2) The Islanders and Flyers get another crack at each other tonight as Steve Stirling's team looks to run their preseason record to 6-0. His squad beat the Flyers on Tuesday, 4-1, in Philadelphia with Rick DiPietro getting the victory. The game will be webcasted here at NewYorkIslanders.com with John Wiedeman and Chris King calling the action.

Papineau Doesn't Back Down:
Justin Papineau is sure making one heck of a case for himself to be one of the last additions on the Islanders final roster. He's scored at least one point in all of the Isles' pre-season games.
Deadline Friday:
The NHL will conduct their annual waiver draft on Friday at noon. Meanwhile, it's also the last day that unsigned junior players claimed in the fourth through ninth rounds can be returned to their junior squads. The fate of D Bruno Gervais, who has been solid throughout training camp and the preseason, is yet to be determined.

We've got another penalty coming up. As Niinimaa gets out of the box, Cairns is heading off for roughing at 10:01. This is the flyers second PP of the game
Nice opportunities by Blake and Bergenheim on the PK, nearly potting a short-handed marker. Still no score in the game with 30 seconds left on the penalty to Cairns
We've got another Niinimaa penalty, as he interfered with Todd Fedoruk as Asham touched up for icing. Time of the penalty at 16:05. Third PP for Philly...
Well its the end of the first period as the Islanders trail the Flyers 1-0. Way too many penalties are being taken by the Islanders and I'm really starting to question their discipline now. They've gotta control themselves big time and stay out of the box. 1-0 Flyers after the first....
Did not hear much but the Flyers are sitting some players (third game in three nights) Peca out means the Isles have to have others step up.
Be a great night for several of these players to score their first preseason goal.
Too many penalties, seemed shorthanded almost all of what I listened to and the Isles chances are all off rushes, nothing where they set up something and getting the Flyers running around in their zone.
At least we get to listen to see what's different when the Isles are trailing.
Isles tie it up 1-1! Czerkawski from a great feed from Alexei Yashin. Seems like he wants to play well AFTER he is put on the waiver list. Credit Kvasha with the secondary assist.
Half-way through the second period, still a tie score, 1-1 with the Isles and Flyers. Robert Esche is now in goal for the Flyers. The Isles took it to him last game, let's see if the Isles can capitalize again..
We've got another penalty here. Snowy's getting into the action as Snow gets called for tripping. Papineau is going to serve it. This is the Flyers 5th PP
