And the new Sportsnet colour guy is...

Well, I just heard it on Global News at 6. Apparently, Rod Phillips' long-time partner, Morley Scott, will be moving to the colour booth for Sportsnet on a part-time basis this season. And Kevin Karius will cover for Scott on 630 CHED during those games in which Scott is away. I emphasize that it sounded like a part-time thing, though, so there's probably someone else who will cover the majority of the Sportsnet games.

Thoughts?

Ya, it was announced a while back that Ray Ferraro will be the new SportsNet guy. Morley will only be doing it if Ray is sick, or away for whatever other reason.

No worries. I forgot that the Oil was playing tonight!
It is like a bonus game for me.

i hope our PP improves because no Simmer in the announcer's desk is gonna take some getting used to, but i will get over it alot easier if we keep clicking at 60% efficiency.

Heh - very true!!

I'm looking forward to the first broadcasts to see what Ferraro's like for myself, although I did manage to snag tickets to the home opener - WHOO HOO! Nice to have a birthday in October, eh?

By the way, why isn't CBC carrying the Oilers' home opener instead of the Flames? I don't mean to say the Flames home opener isn't important, but when there's a jersey retirement ceremony going on, you'd think that would weigh a little more when choosing. Ah well - I'll be there anyway...just a little curious.
