I'll add the links to the old thread in a minute. He's at the ACC tonight to jinx the Leafs. There is a rumour he's been escorted from his seat but nobody knows for sure.

RT @mirtle: I can see Rob Ford sitting in his seat. He hasn't been kicked out of the game. No more asking me.

I had to leave but am just catching up. I don't think it's clear if he was removed for a while or not. Hopefully someone (not Doug or Warmington) can shed some light.

Did he walk into a cameraman again?

He was at City Hall tonight before the sit-in ended at 6. He walked in wearing his Jays' jersey with 14 on the back, then was inside the reception area of his office in his Leafs' jersey. The sit-in ended but seeing twitter, he took a cab to the ACC. Tonight after the game he was heard saying he had to get a cab to city hall. You have to know what will happen next, he will likely get drunk in his office. I hope someone from the media is there.

Edit: He hit another camera a few days ago. He hates cameras. I never take my DSLR to city hall because I could see him damaging it if he had a chance.

Dale said a story about the ACC incident is coming up shortly. I have heard that Ford was acting up and was taken away, told to cool it, then let back in his seat.

And here we go:

http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2014...da_centre.html

Quote:
A “belligerent” Mayor Rob Ford received a warning from Air Canada Centre security staff at the Toronto Maple Leafs game on Saturday night, an ACC source says — and the city council’s budget chief was concerned that he lost the mayor after the game.

Twitter erupted during the game with a rumour that Ford had been kicked out of the building for intoxication — as he was in 2006. The source said Ford was not evicted but was warned for his behaviour.

“What was said on Twitter has merit,” the source said. “(Security) had to ask him to control himself.”

Lmao is it that hard to go to a public place and not get hammered? I think there have been maybe two times that I didn't get into a bar because I was too drunk, and I've never been asked to leave anywhere because of my condition. And I'm not a public official! If I were having problems every other week because of my drunkenness, I'd probably wise up to the fact that there is a problem.

The difference is you know the difference between right and wrong. He just automatically goes into victim mode. I just hope he didn't drive once he got to city hall and I bet he drinks at city hall before he goes home. There is nobody there at this time of night but security.

Edit:

If it makes you feel any better (I know it makes me feel better), Rob Ford's Escalade is still in its parking spot at City Hall.
It feels like he's holding the city hostage. And something is up, unless he cabbed it all the way home, he would have been at City Hall ages ago. He's got to be drinking in his office.

Edit again:

On the other hand, the lights in Rob Ford's office are on and the blinds are drawn. That may or may not be typical for midnight Saturday.

In the last hour, the front elevator travelled between the first and second floors several times. Don't know who, if anyone, was aboard.

A TV playing CP24 is on in the Mayor's Office. Perhaps this tweet will show up on it.
(I'm guessing Goldsbie is outside at Nathan Phillips Square right now)

Ford has gone off the deep end. He had problems before, but rather than changing anything he has become more brazen with his drinking.

He needs psychological help. The people who still support him politically are hurting him. Any normal group of family and friends would have had an intervention by now.

If he keeps this up, he will die a relatively young man.

We were talking about this at the sit-in before. We, who are trying to get him out of office are more concerned about his well being than his family is.

There's a bizarre burnt rubber smell wafting through the City Hall rotunda.
(Chris from the sit-in just told Goldsbie they have smelled it at the sit in before and don't know what it is)

There is a pretty interesting conversation on Goldsbie's twitter feed about what crack smells like and some are saying the description fits. Goldsbie says the smell is stronger by the deputy mayor's office, which is pretty much next to Ford's. I am just not sure if Goldsbie is outside or inside. Maybe the media can get inside if they show a pass or something but the general public isn't allowed in after 6:00 and it's officially closed off at 6:30. I also wonder where the city manager ended up since he got separated from Ford after the game. Goldsbie said the elevator went up and down a few times so it's possible Dan Jacobs or Graeme or even Doug are there.

Edit: Daniel Dale is now at city hall and can confirm the escalade is in the parking lot and something smells funny. I and others have told him to call the fire department

This is like the Midnight Madness edition of the Rob Ford Must Go sit-in. And now @ddale8 has joined.

I told security why I was loitering at 1 am. Guard: "You're media, you're perfectly entitled to be here." Good moment after some bad ones.

Rob Ford has left city hall. Security put him in a taxi that came down beside his Escalade, @goldsbie says.
Thankfully they had the sense to do this. I bet Goldsbie and Dale split up to cover both exits. I'm so glad security called a cab.

Amazing, eh? And when he left Muzik did he go back to city hall and get in his escalade? Nobody knows since Dale and Goldsbie left. He stayed at Muzik for 15 minutes. Incidentally, they donated to his campaign fund last time and he tried to get them a sweetheart deal at the exhibition grounds where they wanted a super long lease. They also provided free booze at the Ford fests.

Love the thread title

Sorry if this has already been mentioned (I've avoided following the Ford saga for awhile), but has Don Cherry made any comments publicly about Ford's antics? He was a big supporter during the campaign.

Only once around November or December of last year.

Thank Kimmel for the title! Also, there is a new Ford Nation episode that I haven't seen. It apparently involves Doug reading fan mail to Rob, and Rob speaks in Jamaican patois. I kid you not.

No sign of an article from Dale or Goldsbie yet. We're also trying to find out if the Escalade is still at city hall. I think both reporters left when Ford was poured into the cab.

All I know is CBC had a camera on him for about 5 seconds during the game last night and Hughson, Simpson and Healy all immediately shut up. I'm sure a lot of people thought that was the best 5 seconds of the broadcast.

The Escalade was not in the underground at city hall as of 2:30 this afternoon. Doug was also seen on a flight from Fort Lauderdale very early this morning which is why he wasn't around last night.

Ford's version of events on being denied from the Director's Lounge at the ACC:

Quote:
Ford denied he was irate that he wasn’t allowed into the VIP lounge during a combative scrum with reporters Monday.

“I wasn’t irate at all. No matter who it is, MLSE or anyone else, if that’s called standing up to the establishment, I don’t look at it that way, it’s standing up for the taxpayers,” Ford said. “I don’t believe in giving out $10-million to anyone. If they are upset with me, that’s fine, I’m not upset with them.

“I support MLSE, I always have. If there was a private function, that’s fine. I was getting mobbed, which I thank the supporters a lot for.”
Quote:
Ford said that he sometimes goes to the Directors’ Lounge when attending Leafs games but said that doesn’t mean he’s part of the “elite establishment.”

“I’m not an elitist, I’m the last guy who is an elitist,” he said.
Contradictions abound!

He then proceeded to dodge questions about his drug use and activities in his office after the game:

Quote:
“I come back to City Hall all the time,” Ford said Monday. “I can do whatever I want. It’s my office.”
Quote:
Asked Monday if he was under the influence of drugs on the weekend, Mayor Ford said “No, I wasn’t.” But when asked if he is still doing drugs at all, he laughed.

“You know what, you guys ask stupid questions. It is a stupid question.” Then he retreated into his office, closing his press availability with an invitation to his re-election campaign launch next week.

Quote:
A raucous night out with Mayor Rob Ford April 5 has Frank Di Giorgio – Ford’s budget chief and one of the few on council who stand behind him – rethinking his support of Ford in the face of continued questions about alcohol and drug abuse.
“What Saturday left me with is... it’s left me in a position where I have to be very clear to myself and say, ‘you know what? I can’t get behind this person 100 per cent,” said Di Giorgio in an interview Monday.
It sounds like Ford Ditched Di Giorgio so he could get out of going to this Italian event. Today at City Hall, Doug, who was in Florida this weekend, came out and bla bla blad at the media. Di Giorgio had a couple of media chats and changed his story repeatedly since Saturday night. Then Ford showed up at City Hall and went to his office. His driver, Jerry, came out and told the media Ford would be speaking to them in minutes. I mean, really? His driver? Who else has a driver come out and make announcements? Then it changed to an hour because Doug had to talk to Rob.

I can't believe it's taken this long for Di Giorgio to realize Rob is a mess. Another one bites the dust. It's really just Rob, Doug, Mammoliti and Nunziata now. I'd love to see all 4 of them gone by October 27th.

LMAO. This is a person who has worked closely with the mayor for a long time, and now even he's realized that Ford is a train wreck. Yet there's still probably one-quarter of Toronto that will continue to support Ford regardless.
