I thought Luke Schenn looked really good tonight. Brayden looked great as well.

Every year a random guy who we picked in the bottom three rounds seems to make the team due to injury.

He's always really fast (Wellwood), Big and strong (Manning), or looks better then he actually is due to who he's playing with (McGinn) and then they never seem to be heard from again. It's weird.

I'm predicting rest of the regular season, 4 games.

Just got back from the game. No complaints here. Thought everyone had a solid game. Would've been nice if the Isles could have beaten Columbus...

Now on the Rinaldo hit....

I didn't even know what happened until they showed the replay. Completely dirty and unnecessary. I see him getting 3-5 games.

EDIT: Holy **** 10 hits and 4 blocks for Luke Schenn

That ear is nasty looking. Getting kinda tired of people retweeting hockey injuries... especially since it automatically displays the picture.

Yikes. Hopefully his hearing is or will be fine.

I guess that was the best and worst of Rinaldo, huh? Score a goal but take 4 penalties including a 5 minutes major.

Can't believe Giroux didn't get a point that game; thanks, Hartnell!

Very happy they took care of business tonight and got a much needed two points.

Good win.

And **** Rinaldo, you've been playing so effectively for the Flyers lately, dumb hit. Who will replace him?

Rinaldo out of the lineup makes things a little annoying. Didn't want Rosehill to be in the lineup for more than a couple games. Hopefully Downie is back soon.

I really wish we had Laughton. He would be such a boost.

Hartnell-Giroux-Voracek
Schenn-Lecavalier-Simmonds
Read-Couturier-Downie
Raffl-Laughton-Hall

Those would be four solid lines. Depth down the stretch is so ****ing important, and with Downie and Rinaldo out, the fourth line is going to be really weak.

Also, good to see Vinny bury another. Would love to see him hit 20. What's the last team to have seven twenty goal scorers?

He was very reliable defensively, which is more than you can say for current players populating our bottom-6, like Downie, Rinaldo and Rosehill.

One report is that Rinaldo will have a phone hearing (not confirmed).

Ok it was obviously a dumb hit for Rinaldo. That's not even up for discussion.

But does 2 bad suspensions in a year for basically an enforcer really make him a bad player? He grinds like no other, almost leads the team in hits, can drop the gloves when the team needs a pick-me-up, and can even sometimes come out of the game with a point.

He's no G or Simmonds, but he's definitely not a plug. He's a 3rd line player FFS, what do you expect?

None of these things make you a good player.

As an overall player that's out there to get goals? Absolutely not.

But he's basically the Flyer's only true enforcer. And enforcers aren't known for their huge productions. And grinding hard does make you a good player, hence why Steve Downie is trash because he barely ever tries.

It's 2014. "Enforcers" who can't play hockey are useless.
