1. Lubo has a no movement clause. Cannot be moved until several months into the 2014-2015 season.

2. Isles lack of success in luring quality ufas, makes me leery about dumping Lubo, then counting on the ufa market for defense.

I don't know what a backward guy like Snow would want but I'd settle for Hansen and a defensive prospect. Assuming Nielsen and Grabner are staying put.

Not that the 'nucks are that stupid to try and a guy who's close to pushing 40. Not even if the Isles add a forward or a draft pick

Now all the teams have to do , is get Lubo the family man , to waive his no movement clause and uproot his young family. Good luck with that

I do not like the Canucks at all , but this is funny the Islanders are saying no . Right now the better D man is Tanev and he is still going to get better . As for getting to the cap floor it is easy enough for the islanders to push for someone in UFA even if they are over paying , either way the Canucks would have to be ******** to do this

I'd offer a 3rd or 4th at most.

I am too lazy to go thru the entire thread. I thought the no thanks from nyi fans, were in response to the Lubo for a pick offers.

Also, keep in mind Lubo has a nmc and is unlikely to waive it,

I would be surprised.

No thanks. There have been actual debates on a few popular nyi boards, over whether JT or Okposo has been the isles best player this season.

Isles have patiently waited five years for Okposo (69 pts in 71 games) , to develop. Not interested in moving him.

Reinhart/Pulock/Pokka all are scheduled to turn pro next Oct.

Tanev and Booth are pieces of crap. I don't care if Visnovsky is 50. Still not doing this. Grabner alone is worth more than these donkeys

There is no such player as Okpose and if you mean Okposo? I wouldn't trade him for ANYONE on your roster currently. Tanev is a bottom pair defenseman at best. You think he's worth a first line star power forward? Are you serious?

Even if we wanted to move him

Seriously. For Chris "friggin" Tanev? The guy is Andrew MacDonald light

Still don't understand how we got him that cheap.

Clearly you don't watch the Canucks at all. Tanev is not even close to bottom pair. He's a 3/4 with room for improvement. He's not flashy on offense but he is he most reliable dman we have and that includes Hamhuis. While I agree Okposo has more value, your assessment of Tanev is completely ignorant and uneducated regarding the player

Regardless. The isles politely say no thanks and pass on Okposo for Tanev. We are more likely to see 30 year old Frans Nielsen and/or those extra seconds moved for blueline help, then 25 year old Okposo . Something along the lines of the Wiz trade or Lubo to LI trade.

Isles do not need a young, developing defender. They need a vet who can play 20 mins on the second pairing and allow Reinhart/Pulock/Pokka to each be bought along slowly if need be.

EDIT changed proposal:

Tanev (a future top pairing D) + Booth for Visnovsky (rejuvenate PP) and Grabner (had success with Kesler)

(previous proposal was Tanev + 2nd rounder + Booth (cap dump) for Visnovsky)
Is Jay Feaster the Canucks new GM?

(if not, please let them hire Feaster)

Are the Canucks then adding more because you need to add more, Tanev is insanely overrated by your fan base. He is not worth Strome straight up, ever.
