The thing with the west is...at least two great teams are going to be out in the first round and two more to follow. Some teams are going to get knocked out significantly earlier than they 'should'.

I can totally see St. Louis being one of those teams...but at least they don't have to worry about seeing the Kings until the Conference Finals this time.

When's the last Stanley Cup winner that didn't have a single elite offensive player on their roster? Boston is the first thought, but even then they strike me as a team with more offensive upside than the Blues.
They can always give us Backes, Oshie and a 1st for say Malkin? Would help Pens and gives us that awesome 2nd line C in Backes while they build around Malkin. We can throw in Sutter if they add. Then we have another sick winger in Oshie, then try getting Perron from Oilers.

Kunitz, Oshie, Neal, Perron, Dupuis, BB. Our top 9 wingers is looking awesome now.

You don't think you are getting the moon back for Malkin, do you? You will be disappointed in the return if he gets dealt. He ain't getting Getzlaf, Perry++.

He isn't, the poster said Blues have no game breakers to win it all, mentioned they would if they traded for Malkin. I swear, some of you guys get pissy about Malkin trade talks, I guess you can't mention certain names on a forum. Are we GM? No, so why get pissy about something meaningless? Obviously I would not trade Malkin unless we had to, I've even said in the past he's a Pen for life. Why can't we talk about a Malkin trade just for discussion? I guess we can only talk about firing Bylsma and how we won't make it out of R1 of playoffs?

Because trading Malkin is stupid, and I generally hate talking about stupid things.

Yeah, the West is brutal.

Right now it is;

St.Louis v Dallas
Anaheim v Minnesota
Colorado v Chicago
San Jose v Los Angeles

It is quite possible that the final four could be Los Angeles, Chicago, Anaheim and St.Louis. That is incredible.

Colorado is just two points behind St. Louis and they own the ROW tiebreaker, with three games apiece left to play. That thing is still way up in the air.

And they're doing this without Matt Duchene, too.

It's a discussion board, you generally discuss things? Why so serious?

Rumours that Trotz might be available in the summer. If Bylsma goes then what say you?

He is defensive minded, he did put a good system in place though. Not sure he is what this team needs in terms of style of play

I would rather Shero go out of his comfort zone and not default to his old mentor's leftovers.

However ... if the option is Trotz or keep Bylsma, then I'd welcome Trotz with open arms.

That's exactly what we don't need... To try and be more like the Predators.

I'd rather Shero move away from his quest to be Nashville.

Nor would they want to play the Rangers, who will likely have home ice advantage and the Flyers can't seem to win there.

Judging by that quote i would say they do want to play NYR, the only 3 teams they can play is pens boston nyr.

To be honest i don't think it matters who the Flyers play in the 1st round, they will lose.

Reason I mention Trotz. He knows how to make a good D core - as is evident in Nashville throughout his time there. D is our weak-point as often they go missing. I think he'd fix that. We can get an attack coach in for the forwards if they need help.

Could that be b/c that would mean they have no momentum going into the POs? They'd have to lose the last few for that to happen, no?

Flyers have owned us in Consol. And the Flyers have been owned in MSG.

Voracek can say whatever he wants, facts are facts.

Flyers need 4 points in the last 3 games to clinch a top 3 spot in the metro.
