It goes both ways though, pens have owned the Flyers in phily for the most part.

Remember the Flyers lost in 5 after they beat the pens 2 years ago, pens/flyers would be a tough physical series and it would take a lot out of Phily if they somehow won.

Did we change half our roster when I wasn't looking? This Pens team has maybe two or three guys who'd be considered physical.

It may end up being a chippy series (lots of after whistle pushes and shoves), but the way the Pens are currently constructed, I seriously doubt it could play a tough physical series.

We're not discussing Cup aspirations. We're talking about a single playoff round. Philly has had our number for some time now. And the Rangers have had Philly's.

I wonder what this Gillis firing does to our chances of going after Ryan Kesler in the offseason?

At least we won't have to deal with Gillis ****ing around anymore. Maybe the deal just got done, with this firing #wecanonlyhope.

Pens don't have many physical players, but it would still be a physical series, emotions run high in these games which leads to physical play.

To me, the definition of a physical series is when two BIG, PHYSICAL clubs collide. For example, St. Louis versus Los Angeles last season. THAT was a tough, physical series.

Pens/Flyers would be like two 10 year olds throwing temper tantrums and slapping each other.

They did win the playoff series 2 years ago, last year i believe the road team won every game, this year Flyers are 3-1 against the pens, but i don't put anything into the last 2 pens/flyers games.

Last 2 pens/flyers games pens were without Kunitz Neal BB Martin Letang, pens aren't a good team without those players, probably not even a playoff team without them.

Pens have a much better def then they did 2 years ago, Martin is a million times better, Nisky is much better, we got Maatta now, even though Scuderi has struggled this year i believe he will show up for the playoffs.

It would be a much different result if the pens played the flyers this year.

Naming Trevor Linden, a player no Canucks fan will ever talk badly about, as your President is basically a figurehead to appease the fans so they aren't completely pissed off that again, the team has no future and has made questionable moves that hasn't made the team better by any means.

Trevor Linden is probably at best, the team ambassador, but he now has a fancier title so fans can say "Omg, Trevor Linden is back home! With the team he was never meant to be traded from and the one he retired with!"

That team is such a mess. Apparently their owner is suing a writer? I hate most writers for news papers, they're dicks, well..."journalists" as they like to call themselves, but man, he needs to take a step back.

If the Pens play the Flyers, I would put money on the Flyers winning. Even with that crap defense, Berube is willing to adapt and make the adjustments.

Bylsma isn't.

That matchup is looking like a real possibility. I actually hope the pens throw a stinker when we play the Flyers. Out of the 3 teams we can play the Flyers are the worst possible matchup.

I fear no team in round one. We'll get something good out of our 1st round series either way. We either win the series or DB gets fired, imo.

I think Columbus is the only team we'd do well against. The Flyers just have a way of getting the Pens way off their game and have the Pens number right now. This also isn't 2009. I think Babcock would severely out coach Bylsma in a playoff series right now if we play the Wings.

Fun fact concerning the Capitals:

1-41-8 when scoring two or fewer goals under Adam Oates

Let that sink in - 50 games scoring 2 or fewer goals. 1 win.

One.

Uno.

And someone suggested we fire Bylsma and replace him with Oates...

Co-worker has a friend who works as an NHL agent. He seemed to think a lot of the latest Canucks deals-gone-wrong were out of Gillis' hands, but he became the fall boy. Take that for what it's worth, but it's possible there was a lot more going on behind the scenes

Rupp gets a match penalty for hit, primary contact to the head, on TJ Oshie. Rupp hit him with the shoulder, but Oshie was an unsuspecting player, and went down hard.

Rupp with a bad looking hit on Oshie, seems to be ok though. Have to think Rupp's gonna miss at least 3+ games.

So I just saw that Washington is spanking the Hurricanes 5-2 and fully expected at least four Ovechkin goals, but no, he has zero points and is -2. Amazing.

And the Wild get a SHG. What a letdown for the Blues.

EDIT: with Ott getting a 10-minute misconduct after the goal, leading to Hitchcock calling a TO. The Blues are losing their composure.

Blues get a PP goal, but Minny also gets a shorty. 2-1 Wild.

Feels like the Blues are being set up to be a huge postseason disappointment.

Honestly I'll be shocked if they make it to the Western Finals.

At this point I'm not sure they'll make it out of the first round.
