Suter with his best Goligoski impersonation there. Turns the puck over at the blueline, leading to a SHG against.

EDIT: and Moulson responds. lol

Another Blues penalty. What an undisciplined team.

The automatic wins against the Sabres and Panthers aside, the Flyers seem to be trying hard to draw us in the first round.

Then maybe the Penguins should let the Flyers win on Saturday.

That Hedman (6'6")-Sustr (6'8") pairing is ****ing huge... I wish we could have signed Sustr somehow.

edit: Actually, I wonder what the combined tallest pairing is in NHL history. That has to be up there.

How is Sustr? Just the fact he's 6 foot 8 i'd love Pens to sign him....imagine if he went to Boston? LOL!!!

If Av's win there final 3 games it would be Blues Hawks in the 1st round, that would be great.

I was bemoaning Sustr earlier. Huge, RHS. I mean, he'd never play, but he's a lot of what the Pens lack (and they don't lack much on D)

Might be the last time we see Ovechkin for a while, Lebrun said KHL is quietly pursuing him. As much as i don 't like him, NHL needs him to stay put but probably 15M tax free (assuming it will be that) for say 5 years? that's 75M right there.

Is there a reason why Pens did not sign him? he was playing with them at their training camp. Imagine if he became the next Zdeno Chara and we never picked him up.

they tried, he went to a place he felt would play him sooner (this is not a swipe at the Pens)

Too bad. I'd love to have a monster on the back end. Last time we had a tall guy on D was Wilson who was 6'6 or 6'7.

yea, I was really hoping he'd sign, though I have to admit I was shocked to see him make/stick in the NHL this quickly

It's actually quite mind boggling. He continuously manages to be a minus player even in games when his team wins (by big margins, too).

Powerplay skews his whole game. OV isn't even in the top 50 even strength point getters. He's only the 5th best even strength goal scorer but it comes at the cost of being the worst defensive player in the top 20. His GF% at even strength 5 on 5 is 35.5 which is right around Tanner Glass' level.

He's a bad player with a killer shot selection.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have a large quantity of short and tall players.

Tall:

Andrej Sustr (6'8")
Ben Bishop (6'7")
Victor Hedman (6'6")
Keith Aulie (6'6")
Andres Lindback (6'6")
Ryan Malone (6'4")
Eric Brewer (6'4")

Short:

Tyler Johnson (5'9")
Ryan Callahan (5'10")
J.T. Brown (5'10")
Tom Pyatt (5'11")
Nate Thompson (5'11")
Nikita Kucherov (5'11")
Ondrej Palat (5'11")

His statline is quite bizarre. By farrrrrrr the most shots of anyone in the league, solidly the most goals in the league, and is 870th out of 872 skaters in plus/minus. That tells me that he's playing a terribly inefficient game. He's either taken it on himself or has been instructed to shoot everytime he gets the puck and he's probably doing it to the detriment of his line's 5-on-5 possession.

Eh. There was a thread on the main board discussing what 5 man unit+goalie combo would you want if you had your choice.

I'd still take Ovy with Sid and Geno. He's a guy who can't carry a team anymore, let alone his line in terms of possession, but he's still the best at what he does and a beast of a human.
