He reminds me of De La Rose from last year. If we could nab him with our 2nd or Stl's pick I'd be elated.
I agree with all of this. I didn't watch many Modo games after Possler got hurt for the 2nd time, but I watched a lot before then. I'd love to get him late in the 1st, though there are several guys I'd be really happy with from the mid-1st through the 2nd.

May I ask who?

I'm a massive fan of both Fabbri and Point but they don't fit the model Murray is trying to build.

I could see Bleackly,Tuch,Larkin and Pastrnak. Some of those would require moving up but if we could get one of the sams and one of those I couldn't be happier (obviously add Kempe)

Fabbri and Scherbak are two that pop to mind. Tuch is intriguing, though I haven't seen much of him. Any of these guys have a chance of going in the top 15, but they could also be available late in the 1st imo. It looks wide open.

I agree. This draft is going to be even more insane than 2012.

It wouldn't surprise me if we saw a massive reach in the top 10. I could see Ho-sang going 8th or something along those lines even though he's a projected mid 1st

I'm listening to the ice game and Reinhart just runs that team. Whenever he has the puck something happens. Has 3 assist tonight. They were down 4-1 and came back to score 3 in the last 20 minutes. All plays manufactured by Sam. Game is tied 4-4.

Edit: Ice score 5 goals in the 3rd. Win 7-4. Lead the series 3-1

This. Reinhart is the target. I really hope Murray sees it that way, though it may all be moot if we don't win the lottery.

You think he's that much better than Bennett?

Devine states that he watched Dal Colle/Ritchie last night, and will be on his way to watch Ekblad tonight.

Then off to the Finland U18 next week.

@WGR550

Devine says the Sabres will take the best player on their board, regardless of position

Kevin Devine talks 2014 Draft Prospects, Grigorenko's Progress, and what he'd do if he were the GM with the Islanders pick.

I think he's better than Bennett, not sure how much better. I've just watched a lot more Reinhart than Bennett. They both have very different strengths. It really depends on what kind of player you want.

Was it just me, or did Devine sound sort of turned off by Bennett? Howard and Jeremy were glowing about him and then Devine set them back to reality. I know I shouldn't read too much into these things.

Right. I'd say the gap isn't that big, it's just that clear. Others may disagree of course but despite liking Bennett a lot there's no hesitation for me, it's just easily Reinhart.

I'd definitely recommend listening to Devines interview on Bennett. I don't think they are as high on him as some others are. I'm starting to think its Ekblad/Reinhart for us. Since he clearly states whoever is at the top of there list (BPA) they will be taking.

It's a legitimate point. He's not big, yet wants to play a big man's game. He can get away with that in the CHL, but against NHLers he'll get clobbered. So does his game translate?

IMO I think he'll just learn to pick his spots better. That takes away a little bit of what everyone's enamored with in his game but he'll still be a really good all-around player imo.

Moreso than whether his physical game will be effective, for me, is will he be durable enough to keep playing it? Talk is that he's pretty banged up now, as an 18 year old, playing this style. As a 25 year old, will he bounce back?

I think that was the Devine's concern as well. Is he able to keep that intense pace in a lot tougher NHL?

Reinhart has a lot more "economical", yet effective playing style.

This is exactly the point I brought up earlier (can't remember which thread). I don't care how much talent or even size/toughness a player has, you can't play 100 mph every game in the NHL and still be available and/or 100% for the playoffs. Bennett isn't a big guy, so he'll have to tone it down a bit. If he tones it down can he still be effective and still play his game? I'd assume so but maybe/probably without the impact he's having in junior.

In listening to it he either....

1. Is really concerned with his style of play that he may not hold up nor succeed in the NHL He could have a short career or not be a top 2 line player which then means he is a bust for such a high pick.

2. Is really in love with him and hes on the top of his board.
