absolutely

kings don't need another forward...they need a defenseman.

Maybe you sign him, since all it costs is money, knowing full well you will trade him during the season in some kind of package deal for a goalie or mobile Dman.

Stock up on UFAs while they are still out there to be had, then peddle off the ones you don't need to teams who are missing a few pieces.

Doesn't sound like a horrible idea to me.

George

Agreed! It's a good tactic to get more picks on draft day.

But it sets a bad precedent when signing UFA's in the future.

Sure we'll sign you to a multi year deal, make you think you're going to play in warm and sunny L.A. only to ship you off to Toronto.

If the Kings did that, I'd be surprised if they ever were able to sign another UFA without throwing boatloads of money at them.

The guy only scored 5 goals in 23 games with a talented Sens team. 0 points in 7 playoff games with that Sens team. Bondra is done!!

Surely you jest. I can't imagine how I'd play immediately after being traded from the team (family) that I spent all 14 seasons of my NHL career with.

Exactly...He does not have the speed nor shot that he had back then to make him one of the game's elite...
