The LGK post mentioned Weaver, not Wilford.

At least Weaver spent some time with the Thrashers.

There we have it. So can we all stop the trade Cammelleri posts for now? I think that would be a great line. Frolov/Conroy/Demitra as the other line, and Luc/Armstrong/Klatt as the other line. Avery/Belanger/Cowan as the 4th. Of course, if Klatt isn't coming back, T.K. takes his spot on the 3rd line. There we go, the Kings are set.

Avery and Cowan are both Left Wings. So make that
Avery/Cowan - Belanger - Kostopolous

Ummm....obviously in the top 6. So maybe Frolov/Demitra/Bure, Cammy/J.R./Brown or even switching Bure and Brown to give each line a player that can take the punishment and cause a havoc in front of the net. Luc/Conroy/Klatt or T.K., Avery/Belanger/Cowan. Leaving Armstrong as the odd man out. Nothing against Armstrong at all, just it's a numbers game now. Don't see them dealing Belanger, he's a good penalty killer, and good on face-offs. Plus he's younger than Armstrong.
Wouldn't mind seeing how those lines go for a few games.

True. In fact, the last season he practically begged Murray to play him at center...and when he did, that's when Avery really stepped his game up.

He sat right in front of us. He was very accessible and willing to answer questions, which were many. My first question was about Kopitar and where he will play this season. He thought he might be able to play Juniors because he was drafted by Regina. I also asked him about his actual height and weight because he's been listed anywhere from 6'2"-6'"4 and between 200-220. He said he was 6'2" and over 210 and has great skill.

Next I asked him if Flinn was going to make the big club and if his skating was good enough to play everyday. He is assuming he will make the big club. He also said that Parros is up to about 230 and has improved overall. Nice option to have both.

I also asked him about what other options he has for defense. Will he sign anyone else, or will he bring up Grebs? He said Grebs is close, but he also said that Weaver is a possibility as well. I mentioned the possibility of bringing back Norton, because a guy like him is a good option to have because he can play D or wing, kinda like a McSorley or Belak. Asked him if he might sign a guy like Norton after training camp starts. He said that he really likes Norton. Said he worked hard and is a good teammate. He said that when training camp rolls around he might be a non-contract invitee. I asked him about Rullier, since we were talking about toughness on the blueline. He told me that Rullier was a "really tough" defensemen and that he got a one way cotract with the Rangers, so he definitely understood why he took that deal.

Later, my buddy asked him about that whole Roenick going back to Philly as the "future consideations" of that trade. He said he had heard taht rumor, but it was bogus. He also smiled and said, sarcastically, "you know, we had to take a 3rd rounder too." We all laughed at that one. We started talking about line combinations. He talked about the possibility of a line with Roenick with Frolov/ Brown on LW and Cammy at RW.

As far as goalies are concerned he thinks that both Garon and LaBarbera are ready and will push each other. He seemed happy with having both of those guys starting the year with the big club.

I asked him what brought him down to Orange County. He said " the Red Sox." He said his dad was a big Sox fan growing up. Also talked about playing at Boston Garden. "it was always 100 degrees in that locker room." My other buddy asked him about that game where he puched Gretzky right in front of the ref. He said no one mentioned that when he got traded to LA.

Talking with DT , you get a sense that he has a plan and that he won't deviate from that plan unless there is a lot of thought and information put into the decision. We are in good hands Kings' fans! I had a lot of other questions for him, but who wouldn't? I wanted him to have a chance to enjoy the game.

Cowan can play either side of the wing. Avery has just been used as a LW and C.

How in the world is someone supposed to give you a link to games that they've watched?

It might be possible to find the link to the Times article where Avery talks about asking AM about playing center, but there's no way in hell I'm going to go through all of that searching.

Sean Avery's shot was stopped by Raycroft, but Bruins defenseman Nick Boynton checked the center into the goalie...
