Im used to getting pounded because of my displeasure of the guy. And I usually do no ev diuss him. But I find it very concerning that most here see him as a big part of turning this team around. This current streak is just ignored and when he does anything positive I catch crap. And as type Smith gets stoned yet again.

We all have a bit of selective observation/analysis, I think, especially with certain players. I believe he can be A part of the team going forward, but he basically looks to top out at a 2nd line guy.

There are a lot of guys on the team that that should be said about. One of the guys tied for the team lead in goals is not one of those.

That would be great but he is about as consistent as a politician.

Smith is a solid secondary scorer. I don't think anyone is praising him as the savior of the franchise but he's a young talented forward that has a nose for scoring goals. He may not be consistent but anyone who's scoring 20 goals for the preds is a welcome addition to the team and quite frankly, its not like there is much room for him to regress. He won't be a first line offensive dynamo but if smith can keep up as a 20-20 player here then that's not something to overlook.

I'd argue the opposite. To me he's been possibly the most consistent forward on the team. Points-wise, and from simply watching him. Pretty consistently creates the most chances and chooses great times to take shots.

It's all in the context, I think. 3 in 21 sucks, but when you look at Wilson's 10, Cullen's 9, Bourque's 9...Stalberg's 8, I think you're gonna see some leeway for a guy that's put up 20. By that some logic, I don't understand why Nystrom gets crapped on so much, but that's another topic.

Good thing there are 82 games. Those 82 games will support him in this case. Let's not get started on the goal scoring statistics for pretty much every one else on the team.

Yeah Nystrom has 15 on the 4th line for the most part. Did Smith do that when he was on the 4th? Noooooo All I heard was with increased TOI he could be a star. Well he has and hes not.

Nystrom has spent more time on the 3rd line than the 4th line this season. He' isn't the best choice for an example in consistency in goal scoring.

Edit: 8th on the team for forwards in ice time.

Which is it is Smith inconsistent for the last 21 games. Or it makes no difference because there's 82. And Nystrom is garbage for doing ok with far less expectations.

Smith is better than last year is all I care about. He sucked last year. If he can keep scoring like this every year then I'm happy. But at the same time w/ the exception of Colin Wilson and Ryan Ellis, Smith has also played the most games this season compare to the other players and so has Weber so I would expect Smith to score more than the others just because of that.

If this team had a legit 1st line Smith would not have 15 goals. His PP time would be reduced and he would disappear into insignificance. But as it is his 21 goals give him a false image of being a reliable forward.

The lengths you go to to try to discredit him are truly remarkable. I think that speaks for itself.

Yeah it's really annoying to be honest..it's like you have some kind of personal vendetta you have against him.

Hornqvist hits 50 points. Hopefully both him and Weber have their best years in points.
