They always looks fairly normal, nothing too crazy with streaks and all.

Team has looked bad lately. Tbh they looked bad against Buffalo and Florida too. They are a mess in their zone, powerplay has been horrendous, and first line is arguably our worse right now. Boston in the first round will eat this team alive.

There are a lot of overreacting people in this thread. Overall, we played pretty well. We just didn't finish.

... ok now it's my time to possibly overreact. I'd seriously hope Holmgren at least considers waiving Downie before the playoffs. I know we are organizationally thin, but someone in the AHL, like Akeson, has to be better. Downie seriously does almost nothing positive. He can cycle down low a little, but that's it, and his negatives are so many. Two of TB's goals were a direct product of him being terrible tonight.

I missed the game and from this thread I've learned that Hartnell and L. Schenn are apparently satan's children.
I'm just glad we made the playoffs, thats all I cared about. I know this team needs to mature before we become a serious threat, but after our horrid start who would have thought we would make the playoffs.

I'm not worried about the playoff matchups until I see how they play in the 1st game of the series, obviously I'd rather not play Boston but I'm certainly not counting it a sure loss if they do.

What worries me is that we have a ****** coach, a beyond horrible backup, and players like Hartnell and Downie who do so much stupid **** and get away with harming the team because the coach will never do anything about it.

I'm just hoping a game against the Pens this Saturday can get the juices flowing again for these guys heading into the playoffs.

Some parts of Berube are great to see but some just make me want to punch him every game day. Our last two coaches were Stevens and Laviolette though so maybe it just seems like anything is an improvement over them.

does mason not starting tonight have anything to do with him getting bumped last game or was this berubes plan all along?

Berube doesn't have much of a plan, if any. At the very least, there's no logic behind it.

so frustrating tonight-emerys performance-hartnell/downie-powerplay etc. but what kills me is how hard it is for us to score.
i know anders limp**** made some good saves but we can dominate teams for stretches and we cant put the puck in the net.
couturier, voracek and raffl need to become legitimate scoring threats.
whole team is just...so god damn ineffective.

Honestly I'm glad Mason didn't get the start, I'd rather him rest before the playoffs and also lessen the chance of him getting hurt. I was expecting Emery to get 2 starts out of the final 3 games after Florida. At this point I don't really think it matters who we play in the first round, all possible opponents look tough (Rangers, Penguins, Bruins). Although out of the three I'd want to avoid the Bruins of course.

On another note, why the hell do the Tampa Bay Lightning keep beating the **** out of the Flyers every season since 2004?!

Agreed. They haven't been able to score against good teams since that shootout loss to the Bruins, and even in that game they only got 3 goals out of 52 shots.

So many flubbed shots tonight. I'm blaming the ice for the loss.

Hartnell and Downie played great.

This forum does go through stages of being hysterical though. Voracek has a bad few games and he's a turd? He was god's gift to hockey last month.

People just need to calm down a little bit. There's passion and then there's just being a little silly.

Losing to Tampa Bay is automatic now. The Flyers are a slow, undisciplined, dumb team. Any team with structure or speed, which Tampa has both, kills them. There are way too many players on the flyers with poor to non-existent hockey sense and a few others with zero discipline with the puck or with penalties. Those blaming Berube must realize this team has very little talent and even less brains. Holding people accountable only works if you have other players to replace them. A quick check of the phantoms kills that option. It's amazing they made it into the playoffs.

Meh, its an internet forum. I browse through 2 other forums and their the same to similar. You could go on the flyers facebook but all youll hear about is how Zac Attack has more heart than Giroux. Oh and how Crosby sucks every other post. Haha.

I dont think the hate is unwarranted. The "flip the switch" when it comes to playoffs is not true. If you consistently play average hockey all season long, there is a good chance your gonna play average hockey in the playoffs.

This^

The way they are playing, I doubt they get by in round 1 especially if they play the Bruins..

Yep...I hate the frigging Lightning.

Honestly I think the team just needs a rest to regroup. I just want to avoid the Bruins.

If they had just played with an ounce of defensive discipline last night, they probably walk out of Tampa with at least a point. It's inexcusable this time of year to have some of the breakdowns they had last night. The zone/lane discipline was putrid, and the back pressure was non-existent at times. I don't buy that it's all on this team being slow. Some of these guys are just lost at times.

I know Read and Couturier are attached at the hip, but I'd like to see what Read can do in Hartnell's spot. Teams just collapse of Giroux at even strength because Hartnell and Voracek barely pose a threat at this point. Putting Raffl back in that spot isn't a bad idea either.

Read-Giroux-Voracek
Hartnell-Schenn-Simmonds
Raffl-Couturier-Downie
Hall-Vinny-McGinn/Rinaldo/Pig ****
