Don't see them giving up Kreider as center piece for that package, NYR fans seem to love him and rightfully so.

Sure, we'll gladly trade you our best forward prospect and our best defenseman prospect in return for two players we don't need.

Dylan McIlrath is your best D prospect ? Maybe we should send you some of ours then....lol
Take him out and replace him with Brandon Mashinter....Better?

no way we're giving up on Kreider for that offer. We have way too much invested in him

Actually it's much better, yes. Although we're not giving a second round pick here and It doesn't fit our needs. Size and speed can't be replaced that easy, especially on a player who had a good season.

Yes. Dylan McIlrath, who has been very good in his first full season in the AHL. Brandon Mashinter hasn't been in the Rangers' organization for a while now. I can see you put a lot of thought into this...

Based on the last time you played this card, you may want to rethink this statement.

You're not getting revenge for McDonagh. Not like this, at least.

Now if you want to send us Pacioretty for Nash...

Well the "let's dump what we don't want" part of the comment is just plain silly. A young #3C, a top 4 Dman and a 1st....while not attractive enough to entice trading Kreider in a package.....it is NOT dumping insignificant pieces. That is how so.

sadly....there is no way to avenge the McDonagh trade

or, this is one that I am supremely peeved about, the 2009 draft where we picked Leblanc....the great franco hope......instead of....wait for it.....Kreider

You already sent the Rangers a d prospect. That worked well for you.

Brandon Mashinter isn't with the Rangers so he's not really their's to trade.

I wouldn't do that from the Habs' POV. Kreider is the best player, but I wouldn't take the losses on the other two parts just to upgrade Eller to Kreider. Gorges is a rock on D for us, I think this overrates McIlrath's potential based on his undeniable toughness factor, but the Habs are seeing how little the toughness factor really matters. They need Gorges more. Not a bad proposal, but you have to sell low on Eller and rate McIlrath highly to do it, and I wouldn't be ready to go there.

Eller would be our 4th line center. He won't slot in instead of Stepan, Brassard or Richards.

Gorges would be a third pairing defender for us at best. He's not slotting in ahead of McDonagh-Girardi or Staal-Stralman (I agree that Gorges > Stralman, but we won't break the pair)

So, from OUR perspective, you're trading us a 4th line center, a third pairing D and a low end 1st for our two top young players and a pick we don't have.

Pass from the Rangers.

Canadiens want Kreider--they'll have to move something a lot bigger--at least one of Pacioretty, Subban or Galchenyuk are going to have to be in the deal.

Obviously Kreider with his 37 pts season is worth a 35 goal scorer, a norris-winning #1 D or a top 3 pick from 2 years ago developing well

And then people say we overrate our players.

Just as obvious people can't read between the lines to see that the Rangers don't have any interest in moving Kreider unless the other team can blow them away. Lars Eller doesn't do it. The Rangers don't need Josh Gorges. Personally for the Rangers needs Kreider fits better than Galchenyuk. Take a look at our wingers--in terms of size and speed and talent there's not a lot of that combination.
