Ov is a primadonna, something tells me the allure of fame would be enticing to him.
Biggest hyperbole I have read on HF so far. And you might as well added and all those borshch commercials he could pitch.

Wow, i dont even know what to say to that haha. As for the primadonna label by someone who probably never watches him play or listens to interviews etc., the guy was forced to play with jay beagle on the 1st line and he didnt complain once

Even if it was, court rulings are essentially unenforceable in each others' countries anyways. The only ramifications for breaking a contract would be sanctions imposed by the IIHF.
Ovechkin signed a contract that restricts his hockey employment to the NHL through the 20/21 season. The NHL and KHL also have an agreement to respect each others contracts. International companies can and do sue each other every day and there do exist ways for the NHL to enforce such contracts if they chose pursue it.

It would be bad business for the KHL to poach Ovechkin from the NHL, they have a mutual agreement and the NHL has a lot more clout than the KHL.

The irony....your name and your attitude for the worlds greatest goalscorer....who can't be found in his own zone.

The cap is here to stay it is the best thing the league ever did. And North American players are not going to play in a sub par league in a foreign land for a few dollars more. Greedy players should be happy they are making big money to play a game and the money has skyrocketed since the. 80's. A league with no cap turns into a 5-8 team league cause the other teams won't lose money to try to compete with 100 mil dollar team salaries.

He would have eternal glory only because of his non-stanley cup achievements. If the caps would have went all the way last year, two years from now you'd see Jay Beagle's name on a roster and think "Who? He has a cup? with what team? when?"

For him to go to Russia, it'd probably cost 5% of their GDP.
