Nucks - Caps

Burakovsky
1st 2014

Edler

WSH needs better defense and their LHD is weak. Nucks should use some of their assets to address their future. Burakovsky is an elite prospect and the 1st will be fairly high in a great draft. If need be the Caps send a dump to the Nucks.

I don'ypt think Edler's worth that much. Although I really love Burakovsky.

thats an easy decline from the Caps

Burakovsky alone is an easy decline, let alone with the pick

if you want to consider parts like Mojo, Brouwer, draft picks for Edler fine

And this is a sign prospects are disgustingly overrated on these boards.

perhaps you are right

If last years draft was conducted now, Burakovsky would be picked very high ... is a LW where we have little ... and he just might make our team next year which would be very exciting indeed

we Caps need to trade picks and one of Ward/Brouwer and Mojo for a D or two ... Ward and Brouwer are valuable now and we simply have to cash in and create space for Wilson to move up

If a redraft happened today would any prospect have risen as much as Burakovsky? Not the type of upside you give up after pissing away Forsberg.

More to player value when you're wearing your trading partners skates.

Is it Edler or Shea Weber?

An autographed Ovie jersey should do it.

C'mon now, be reasonable Dandy. You're not going to get the equivalent of two mid-1sts for Edler, and certainly not more than that.

I would be happy with a late 1st, seriously, Edler is an awful defenseman, has been for a long time now. He just doesn't have it. Maybe he does bounce back, but that's highly unlikely, classic case of all the tools with no toolbox, aka a brain.

Marcus Johansson is worth a little more than late 1st (something like mid 1st). I think Edler for MJ is a good deal.

Ok first off I would not do this trade if I were the Caps. Thats too much to give up.

But I do not believe Edler to be a terrible player. Out of NHL players who played at least 50 games this year Edler has the 2nd lowest PDO at a woeful 944. He's been getting some brutal luck.

I suspect he will have a bounceback year for sure.

But Burakovsky looks to be a stud sniper and a LW which the Caps are terribly short at. Caps have plenty of other parts they can use to acquire a vet dman from other teams if this is the price.

Honestly I'd really rather just keep Edler. Plenty of people I'd move before him. Namely the guy who asked to be traded, or one of the multiple players well over the age of 30 on our team.

Garrison for Green. Don't bother asking for Burakovsky, he'd be very tough to get after the Forsberg fiasco.
