Who is Edler's forward equivalent in a 1 for 1 trade?

Vancouver should just keep him.

I think he would do well on the Jets however.

Some truly brutal undervaluing of Edler here. Tlusty? Wingels? Michalek? Gagner? Fleischmann? Terrible. You people have some real short memories and/or just refuse to look at things in context. If Edler went for any of them people would be calling in a massive steal shortly after, and they wouldn't be wrong.

That would kind of defeat the point of acquiring him to play with Trouba lol

Its unfair to gauge Edler's value at this time.

So true
Haven't seen one decent offer.

I'd trade Hartnell for Edler straight up.

I'll take anything that isn't a burden on the team, that gets Edler off of it. He's like an anchor, an anchor that not only drags the team down, but runs backwards while doing so.

People keep putting up Hansen + Higgins like they're the same value.
Higs is way better than Hansen in practically every category.

Edler has more value than fans give him credit for.

Actually, Jets fans, what would you offer? I'm okay with no roster players.

Bieksa won't waive NTC. The only Canuck to say so publicly at the deadline.

I'd say Evander Kane would fit the bill if he was 4-5 years older.

I find it funny you call edler washed up when he's 5 years younger than bieksa. But maybe we have different definitions.

Pretty sure bieksa with the twins are the only ones with 'iron clad' NTC's too.

Well at least there is some appeal there. Purcell, Staal (if that is Carolina's offer), Lupul or Hartnell I'd consider, the rest I think we lose 1 for 1.

If Kadri was on the table, I'd be all over that. He's on the table for Tanev, who I really insist we not move at this stage, but this would be the first I've heard of an Edler-Kadri swap, which makes me inclined to believe it's a fellow Canucks fan bringing that up.

Ditto Evander Kane, but let's be real, Winnipeg fans said no to Edler+++++, so something tells me that wasn't a Jet's fan proposing that.

A few more reasonable offers.

Eller, Tlusty and Flash straight up I'd probably turn down, where as Eriksson I'd consider. If someone could fix Michalek too, he'd be a "probably", but AS IS, I think we'd pass.

I'd pass. I like Wingels, but I don't think he's worth Edler straight up to be honest. Irwin defeats the "1 for 1" element too

Agreed. I also thought Hartnell was a legitimate offer, where as Read I think would be harder to pry out. I also thought Hartnell was somewhat younger then he was. 31 isn't retirement age, but I thought he was much closer to Edler. I remember when he was drafted...sigh...I feel like the old one now haha. Reassessing, I'm not totally sold on Hartnell, but Read, while developing and certainly on an upward swing development wise, isn't the established top six player we'd want for a one time 49 point defender (just opinion, I'm not saying Read isn't worth it, or worth less, or anything negative).

Staal, Lupul, Purcell or Eriksson are so far winning in my eyes. Established top six players with solid production history in various categories.

From a Flyers perspective I would say something around Matt Read!

Perhaps Hartnell.

Michalek is a UFA, why would Vancouver trade Edler for him? If they really like him they can have him for nothing in a few short months.

I'd guess somewhere around the "better than your average 2nd liners but not quite 1st liners" range

I'd give Tatar for him, from the Wings (value Wise.. I'd rather keep Tatar).

I think Tomas Plekanec would be similar value (edge to Pleks), but he is too important a player for the Habs to trade - at least for another season or two.

Just stop.

You've made your point and expressed your opinion enough already, and it's a rash, poor, and misinformed one...
