I think Tokarski is too small to be a regular back-up in the NHL.

I was hoping this extension got done. Tokarski should be our regular backup come 2015-2016. He has done nothing but succeed in his hockey career.

Anybody know if this is a two-way contract or a one-way?

It's two way in the first year and one way in the second, according to the Bulldogs twitter.

Happy for Tokarski, and the team, good deal for both sides, unless the money is crazy.

Problem is, I think he is a 2B. Budaj is better, especially if he had to play for a couple of weeks.

So, my concern is if we do not re-sign Budaj after June 2015, we will need to find another REAL backup, and we could get stuck paying Tokarsky an NHL salary in Hamilton, or we would lose him on waivers. However, it's not my money, so unless he earns over $925,000 - which I highly, highly doubt - it does not affect the cap, and gives us a very solid #3.

Too small to be 1B/2A type but for a 15-20 starts IMO size doesn't really mean that much.

Well some people might be able to do only one thing at a time. I think a GM is not in that category

to people who know him/her maybe.

when one make intelligent posts and show some "finesse", it's pretty easy to detect joking, sarcasm, etc.

but that's not the case, so, failed attempt at joking.

I like the deal, but I don't like the message this sends to Budaj.

What motivation will he have to play well essentially knowing he's gone?

Doesn't mean he will be gone. One way contract can go play in the AHL, just look at Drewiske.

True, but it usually means the player will be in the NHL.

Owners don't want to pay 600k+ to a guy who's not really helping their team.
