Can we do any kind of a deal around Methot?
I don't know much about him but I like his size and attitude
What is his worth and do Sens fans like him?

Again no. I wouldn't touch this with Baertschi out of the deal altogether. You're talking something along the lines of Spezza, Z and a pick to get Giordano. Next year Spezza will fetch a return similar to what Vanek did. You aren't getting a premium prospect and a #1 defenseman for him.

I'd be hesitant about moving Methot. Save for Karlsson, he's our only legit top-4 defenseman.

I wouldn't do it, although it would completely turn Calgary around IMO.

They'd immediately have a better team.

No trade makes Calgary a better team here. Losing Giordano would bury us, Methot is not even close to Gio.

Spezza is great, but we cant sacrifice Gio to get him, nor do I particularly want to.

The Method for Bouma and Brodie offer is just terrible. I would take the Spezza for Gio one before that.

You do realize Methot is a top 4 dman/ top pairing dman well Bouma is a 4th liner and brodie is not yet a steady top 4 and might never become one. Methot would probably be calgary's second best d

Then why don't you keep him. Moreover, just because Bouma is a 4th line player doesn't discredit his value to the Flames. A rebuilding team has no reason to trade a 23 year old Brodie who just keeps getting better and better by the week.

Brodie plays more minutes than Methot, has more points, is 5 years younger and plays on a worse team. If that isn't top-4 I don't know what is.

It's okay to admit you just don't know anything about another team.

Brodie is already a better defensemen than Methot. He plays some of the toughest minutes in the league and excels despite playing for a 26th place team.

As for any of the Ottawa proposals in this thread, easy, easy no from the Flames. It's year one of the rebuild and the Flames aren't cutting things short, no matter how much anyone tries to stereotype.

HELL NO. I wouldn't trade Giordano for that ALONE. But then to add Hudler...nope. Bye.

Would rather wait a year and see what flames youth rises to the top and maybe sign Spezza for free.

Spezza's not gonna be a UFA, he's going to resign in Ottawa and why would he sign in Calgary lol?

I think flames fans over value brodie, hes having an excellent year but has yet to show consistency over his career. Methot;s TOI is lower because him and Karlsson were paired with weaker dmen to spread the experience for half the season. Methot is a +/- 0 on the second worst defensive team in the league that has to mean something.

As far as im concerned Methot>Brodie but i understand why flame fans value hims so much.

Crystal Ball? After next year Ottawa's cheap Owner will have to sign Ryan, MacArthur and Zibanejad as well as Spezza...that could be a lot of Cake.

And why wouldn't he sign in Calgary? Not a good enough team? before you answer look at the stats, Calgary has as many wins as Ottawa and their in the first year of a rebuild.

What? Brodie is one of the more underrated players in the NHL. If you never seen him play, look at his numbers/advstats, they are are surprisingly outstanding. All things considered Brodie has superior trade value.
