Tape job

I'm sure I'll probably get told I can look for videos online but was wondering how do guys get that grip on end of stick where it's like braided. To me almost seems like you would twist the tape til it's like thin rope, then lay it down how you want, then put a wrap of tape around it the normal way? I could be wrong?

Yep that's it. I figured that's how it was done.

I've never tried the ribbed version but Tacki Mac makes a ribbed grip.

Did my best on this the other day. Granted only going to be when I play street hockey here and there with some buddies. Stick will probably sit in his garage til next time we play which isn't too often. But hopefully I like it, I'm too fussy about how things are lol.
