I do too, assuming he isn't letting in like 5 goals a game in the AHL or something. And considering he did a pretty good job today, I'm quite confident that I would prefer him over Zatkoff. Still want Fleury over Vokoun though, even though 100% of HFBoards posters hate him.

That's a lot to ask for a guy who was out all year and will have next to zero time in net before the playoffs start. I love me some Vokoun, but rushing him into the fold is probably the wrong idea.

True, but that's what the conditioning assignment is for.

Also, I think I'd prefer recovering Vokoun over Zatkoff. Not that Zatkoff has been bad, Vokoun is just great.

At least he didn't give up 5 in the first period, Hartzell style.

I definitely would hope, if Vokoun can play well over 4-5 games for WB, then you'd move him up with the big boys. But i'd definitely like to see at least 5 starts in the minors before throwing him into likely playing time in the postseason.

I think he's only playing 2 games during the conditioning stint.

Nobody that I know of. It was intended to be a joke about him performing pretty well considering he hasn't played in like a year but oh well.

Good for Vokoun. How he feels after that is the other big thing.

If the intention is to start him twice this weekend anyway they should bring him up and start him against Ottawa.

I don't think they can because CAP. I think that is why he's stayed out so long as it is.

If he's in WB/S on a conditioning stint isn't he counting against the cap now? I mean, he's not playing for free.

WBS players don't count against the cap.

Conditioning stints don't count against the cap, though if Vokoun were outright in the AHL then it would count (35+ contract).

I don't think even Bylsma is dumb enough to say something like that... but after the Hartnell-Letang comment... I could be mistaken.

As for TV, I doubt any of us feel he's washed up, just potentially a long way from being strong enough to get regular NHL playoff games. But maybe he'll get his wind back quicker than I think... hope so. I'd take a healthy and in-NHL-game-shape TV over Zatkoff or Fleury right now, that's for sure.

I had some reasonable hopes for Hartzell...I can now see that even EA knew better than I, when they released him in my GM Mode during the off season.

Go back and read Bylsma's end-of-the-year presser.

Not even playing tonight. So if he plays tomorrow, that will be 2 games of warmup for the playoffs. Fair to say he's not going to be involved these playoffs unless someone gets injured.

BTW - after tonight's win, coach Hynes confirmed that Tomas Vokoun will be in net tomorrow for the Pens regular season home finale.
