And the Oilers become the Edmonton coy-oilers
That's a VERY large package for Yandle and pieces. I'm not exactly sure I'd be happy with that deal. I'd feel a little better leaving the 3rd out. It'd suck to lose Perron as I feel he'll be a great piece moving forward.

You took a good offer and ruined it.

How about Korpikoski and David Moss?
I think Moss would be a good pick up for the Oilers' bottom 6. He established pretty good chemistry with Gordon last season, and could probably rebound lined up with him again. I'd take a 5th/6th for his UFA rights.

Still like Lupul and he is quite prouctive. But with his fairly substantial injury risk and 5M+ salary, I would now ask Toronto to retain like 20% of Lupul's salary before pulling the trigger.
What else is coming back?

Absolutely done. Take the Sens 5th round?

How about Michalek? What would it take for him?

Sold on Moss's UFA rights!

Z, however, probably wouldn't be moved. He is having some durability issues and is noticeably slowing down, but he remains our best pure SAH defender. If Murphy and Stone take the next step next season Z could be moved at the TDL, but that's a fairly big if.

To retain 20% it would have to be better than decent.

Final guy I'd take a run at is Boedker. What's his value at if obtainable at all? Also, is he a decent defensive player

Take out Gagner and add Eberle and we add a 2nd.

The max I would go is Korpi + 2 2nds + Reider. But I would probably just try to flip Korpi for a younger more cost-controlled RFA w/ upside like Lars Eller or Jason Zucker now.

Actual dollars are a bit higher. He also gets paid 6.75M the following year. That would buy you a Vanek type player.

Cap hit isn't a concern for us, but salary is. And Lupul's bloats to 6.8M next year - which is pretty intolerable given his durability.

I think you're discrediting Hanzal a bit here. Arguably the best shut down center in the western conference. His offense production may not sing he lights it up, but he keeps the Getzlafs, Kopitars, the Duchenes and Halls off the score sheet.

It would take something like that to pry him from Phoenix. In fact, he would be the center piece in my opinion in that specific deal over Yandle.

Players are expected to play defense in Phoenix. His numbers would be more in line with what he did in St Louis. Hanzal for Perron is a bad, bad move for the Coyotes. There's more to a team than just 'points and goals'.

Yawn. The Coyotes have three of those in Gormley, Murphy, and Stone. Four if you count Chris Summers.

Nice paper value, but that plus a "top four ready" D prospect isn't the type of value Phoenix wants or needs for Yandle.

It's not an over-payment in the slightest if you actually consider the fit and the needs of the other party.

I was going to propose something a bit bigger and more complicated involving one of your younger D-men, But that works.

The warm weather in Arizona will help.

Fair enough but don't see any other team offering a younger cheap 1st line winger, a nhl ready dman on their ELC and a top 2-3 pick for those players.

And if Yotes wanted anymore I would just trade those players in other deals. Such as the following which were generally agreed on by both fan bases.

Perron + small add for Dubinsky

3rd overall + Gagner for Myers + Stafford/Stewart

And Oilers still keep Marincin.

Absolutely not... Way to much to give up. Most other Oiler fans wouldn't do 2nd/3rd overall or Eberle straight across for Yandle.

For sure, I am higher on Yandle then most Oilers fans as I get to see 4-5 live games in PHX every year.
