Cooke did his job in that game right? I mean he did bring some energy to the game.

Also, interesting stat for you Legwand fans.

With Legwand 26-25-10 62 PTS .508 P%
Without Legwand 12-7-2 26 PTS .619 P% (8th in the NHL)

It's nice to have a real top pairing on the point for the #1 powerplay unit.

Good luck to Minnesota in the playoffs...you're going to need it.

It's been a long year. But I appreciate watching this team play well for a long stretch of time at the end. Too bad it didn't happen sooner.

Now on to see what happens with the players and staff this offseason. Grab your popcorn.

And I think we were the only team in the NHL to do so....

The season is over and it was nice to see the guys win some games at the end. They were trying hard to save Trotz's job. Yes they were playing without pressure and it wasn't a game that meant anything but wins are wins and the guys can go into the offseaon with some confidence. If it was Trotz's last game it was a good send off for him with a win.

Probably not the way I'd want to go into the playoffs, so I guess there's that. Sure sucks to be taking an early vacation again though.

Legwand:

Rinne did return as well . But you are right, the team has been a lot better since the trade deadline.

Weber / Josi continued to beast mode.

Hutton was able to turn in average play.

Cullen to wing rejuvenated the fisher and hornqvist pairing.

The iron hook has some skills as well.

Great way to end a bad season. Now let's see Weber win the Norris.

The Avs should have no problem with team spearmint.

Could they just both lose? I can't stand either of them. Give the next opponent a 2nd round bye?

I know this game and the final 11 game hot streak means absolutely nothing, but I sure did enjoy the heck out of it anyway.

Super excited about the play of Craig Smith and the future of Iron Hook- I may be in the minority, but I still think there is room for optimism for next year and the future- no way do we need to blow it up...

And we didn't know it at the time, but had we gotten a couple more points in the 2 losses at Dallas, we may have made the playoffs anyway...

If we dont lose that last game in Dallas and we were in we dont lose 3 shootouts and were in, alot of what ifs but the thing is we didnt make it. I think trotz will still be gone next year just because I think the decision has already be made but hey thats just my opinion.

And one more note on the season..

When this season started, what were the REALISTIC expectations for the Preds?? Was it not that we would be a bubble playoff team competing for the 8th seed??

Well, that is exactly where we wound up, except that we managed to do that even though we lost Rinne for almost the whole season, and when pretty much nothing went right offensively until the last 1-2 months..

Disappointing season, no doubt about it, but not a terrible one either considering the circumstances.....

Of course we didn't get in- just pointing out that its possible that we could have gotten in simply by winning the last game in Dallas in regulation. That's not a bunch of ifs and buts- just one.....

Here's to the end of a long frustrating season but with many glimmers of hope for the future. Hope we get back in there next year. Everyone enjoy the Summer!

I'd bet there would have a been a flood of top-3 pick predictions, picturing how the Predators would do without Rinne. Then when he was playing, having a mediocre season to top it off. Finishing where they did is remarkable to me.

Who the hell is this offensive juggernaut of a team?...

Also, any chance we can bottle this up for next season?

For all the crap that Goose gets around here; the guy is an absolute beast in the dot. I have no issues with paying for that. It's not like I'm writing the check.

Two straight games of 7 goals? What happened there?

I am reading reports on twitter that this was the first time this has happened in a full 82 game season for any team.
