I'm hoping so. We need our bigger players to play with an edge in the playoffs or we will get run over by the rest of the field. Coyle, Nino, and Koivu have all got to get into beast mode.

I wish Zucker was healthy. He was a monster in the series against the Hawks last year. Injecting him and Folin into our lineup next will alone add a lot of speed to our lineup.

Maybe if we win the series we'll force Roy to retire again.

I was just thinking, how epic would a Minnesota Wild v. Dallas Stars Western Conference Finals series be? I know for Minnesota fans it's always special when the Wild and Stars meet but they've never met in the playoffs. I was just an infant when the Stars left but over the years you read books, see documentary's and videos and hear stories and you start to appreciate the history of the North Stars as if you were there.

What do you guys think? Would that series (hypothetically, because it's very unlikely, at least this year) be unlike anything we've ever seen in Minnesota, especially in terms of atmosphere?

I dunno...there are some rivalry series that I get excited about, but I don't really see Dallas as a rival so much as a target of my existential hatred. Like, there are some teams I hate but I'm glad we have around to hate––my best example is how, as an SF Giants fan, I'm bound by blood to hate the Dodgers, but I'd be sad if they ever went away and I didn't get to keep hating them. But there are other teams––like the Yankees-–where I don't even appreciate their existence as an adversary; I just want them to suffer and/or go away.

Really what I'm trying to say is, the Stars are in that latter group, and I can't stand the thought of them making the WCF even if it means we get a chance to beat them.

I'm hoping for that. (see my location )

There's a chance I'll be heading up to Minnesota for Easter, so I may get a chance to go to my first NHL playoff game, and it will be the Wild? Even better!

(EDIT: Scratch that, they just released the first round schedule, and Game 3 is on Monday the 21st -_-)

But if miraculously both Minnesota and Dallas make it to the conference final, then I would most DEFINITELY drive up to Dallas to see those games.

Personally, I would love to see that match up in the playoffs. At least once. I think the mood and the atmosphere around the state and in the arena would be unbelievable.

What's with those Game 3 and 4 times? 6 PM and 8:30 PM?

I'm pretty sure they screwed up on Game 3, that's supposed to say 7 PM.

EDIT: Of course it was NHL.com that screwed up, they just changed their schedule to say 7 PM EST. I can't comprehend how incompetent they are sometimes.

Game six is at home on my 21st birthday. The stars could be aligning for that to be the greatest night of my life!

EDIT: And yeah, whats with game 3 & 4? 6, 8:30 and 3 days apart? Don't tell me it's because of a Swarm game or something.

Oh my, not very happy with the 8:30 PM game times. I was hoping for at least two 7 PM or one noon game. Hard times for everyone watching from Europe ahead!

I'd rather die of sleep deprivation than miss any of our playoff games.

This is the way it's gotta be if they want to televise both an Eastern and Western game in the same night.

RT @adater: I know this: Bordeleau hates the Wild with a passion. Won't be shocked if controversy follows him in first round

With that schedule, it might be sooner rather than later. But as I said, playoff hockey > long life. Got nothing else to live for anyway, so might as well enjoy the only thing I can.

What's the story on Bordeleau hating the Wild?

I saw we drafted him in '04. Anyone know what happened?

I usually don't get off work til around 9 so I actually love the later start times.

Hey, are we no longer "fighting till the end?" Did they finally toss that slogan?

4:30 AM start here, right?

I'd rather have that than 3 AM, to be honest.
