Butch Goring doing color commentary for NBC playoffs

Butch Goring will do color for NBC in the Stars-Ducks series

http://www.nbcumv.com/mediavillage/s...ups1583831.xml

I don't know how an NBC exec decided this will be a good idea, but I'm excited for some prime time comedy.

Butch is the greatest thing to happen to the English language since Yogi Berra.

They should have him and Chico do the color for it...one of them can go between the glass. The entire game would be a butchered color commentary with ironically long anecdotes.

I can't wait to hear his in depth analysis of the Pittsburgh team and the Philadelphia team and the Columbus team and the Boston team, and the Tampa bay team and the Montreal team, and the Detroit team and the Rangers.

I can only imagine how great it will be to have Butch announcing names he's NOT familiar with.

haha i can't wait for this, I love butch. If he can barely remember/pronounce the names of players on his OWN team, I can't imagine how he'll fare with teams he's not so familar with. I'll be watching them all

Good, why should WE be the only one's who suffer. Just kidding Butchie ! I love ya !

He's actually quite good when he's in the studio, I've seen him on NHL Live on The NHL Network, and the hockey show on MSG in studio he was always good.

BUT, when it's LIVE, he just get's too excited, and that's when he speaks faster than he thinks, and the fun ensues.

Agreed, I think he's the best color man in the business. Eddie Olcyck is quite good too (IMO).

butch is entertaining as heck. it's always nice to see opposing teams' fans come into our GDTs and compliment him. glad he's getting more recognition.

Good for Butch, more importantly good for everyone else who gets to watch these games and experience the joy of Butch-isms
