Well, Kovalchuk is pretty speedy and it was Chara who kept him to one shot, as they were matched up together on every occasion.

I'm sure there were times when the match-ups weren't always consistently applied, but the intention certainly appeared to be Chara + Phillips vs. most obvious threat.

Threads like these are just a reminder that the season can't get here fast enough, so that we have real hockey stories to talk about.

A point about quantity for quality proposals - they were always sad but in a cap world, they make even less sense. Why does a team looking to save room want a useless player (and his contract) in return. Here's an idea - Rico Fata has negative value to the Sens.
