Why can't we have both Sams? Picking between the 2 is too hard for me.

I flip flop all the time, but I'll go with Reinhart. Ask me tomorrow and I'd probably say Bennett.

I like Bennett but I feel the safe pick is Reinhart. So Reinhart I choose.

Seems Reinhart has opened a pretty substantial lead

I want Reinhart for the surety, especially understanding he doesn't have to be the elite #1C if we're going back to the trough next year. I also like how Reinhart fits into a dynamic roster down the middle.

Next year we get the elite skill guy for line 1.
Reinhart is highly skilled but also very smart, defensively responsible, will be a good game manager on line 2.
Girgensons will be the little powder keg, less offensive skill, but the glue on line 3.

Give teams a few different looks.

Awards:
Reinhart over Bennett here. And yes, I did pick both Risto and Zadorov to much teeth nashing and acrimony last year.

This is strange ....

Just a week ago a poll was done and it was 49%-40% Reinhart over Bennett ... now it's 63%-32%. That's quite a swing.

Either a lot of people changed their minds over a weeks time or a bunch of Bennett supporters have infractions and can't vote .. ha

And also to much applause. There were plenty who loved those picks too, though aside from Jame I don't think we were quite as vocal.

I want Bennett...another plus to having him is sending him back to juniors next season to continue playing at an elite level that he's been playing at and getting big minutes..whereas the tank here shall continue! I want him for our second line center that's tough to play against - if you get the puck from him, he's the most nagging player in the world and will come back and get the puck back from you. He goes to the corners and comes away with the puck in battles many more times than not.

Next year I'd like our top line C with elite skill (he who shall not be named...)

For now, just know that having a guy like Bennett is someone you want on your playoff team more than Reinhart. YES I KNOW WE'RE NOT A PLAYOFF TEAM, but down the road we will be. His style of play is similar to Toews, and I think that's invaluable. Think of a Girgensons type player, except with more speed and more offensive and defensive skill.

I switched over, I can't make a decisive choice between the two. After the dust settles Murray knows more than I do and I trust him to make the right pick.

I probably shouldn't have voted given that a) I have not seen any of the juniors play, and b) my entire knowledge comes from what I've read secondhand on here.

But I chose Bennett. Just a gut feeling from reading everything on here that he's gonna be something special. Reinhart will be an excellent player, but something about Bennett just seems better. Thankfully, the actual people making this decision are gonna go by more than I am though

I will be happy with either Bennette or Reinhart. All year I leaned towards Reinhart but over the past two weeks I am starting to like Bennette more and more. He plays a style that i think management wants to be the culture of this franchise moving forward (taking Girgs lead).

But I like Reinhart...I like him a lot. His vision and passing are fantastic and he comes from a great hockey family...he is a professional and certainly thinks the game better than Bennette. I just wonder, if Hodgson is here to stay, if we already have a player who plays that style already here. (I am not saying Hodgson is as good as Reinhart long term or as good as Reinhart when it comes to defense...but there are some similarities between the two players.)

Funny you should mention Hodgson and Reinhart together. Reinhart has been lauded for his hockey IQ and being the smartest player on the ice. I seem to remember Hodgson being given the same descripton from Vancouver fans when he came in a trade. Now, we are moving him to wing for the less complicated defensive assignment.

I have no experience with Reinhart to even assume they are close offensively or defensively, but the description of their games is eerily similar from my perspective.

That being said, I don't think having them on the same team would be an issue. Hodgson looks to be being groomed for the wing and could be a great offensive match with Girgensons at center or maybe even with McDavid/Eichel on the top line if Reinhart is too similar for them to play together.

I also missed, but I'd add a tally to the Reinhart camp.

It was a coin toss for me but I chose Bennett because I'd rather have a Girgensons type player than a Grigorenko. People can trash Bennett's physical play to their hearts' content, I'd still rather have Bennett in the playoffs over Reinhart.
