I've seen diarrhea more appealing than how they played.

Ineptitude, followed by atrocious third period power play, followed by Akeson blunder, followed by more ineptitude. Yay playoffs

One shot on goal in the third period of a tied playoff game.

There is absolutely nothing in his skull to indicate he's going to progress much above what he is now. He has the physical tools to be elite and the hockey IQ of Zac Rinaldo.

Never seen a dumber bunch then the cohort vilifying Akeson.

He goes in with his stick down to make the hit, falls of balance, and his stick gets Hagelin in the face as he's going down. Literally nothing he could have done except not make the hit in the first place. He had the right idea.

Idiots need to get a grip. He was not the difference. The Flyers were outplayed. It's as simple as that.

And for the record, Akeson had a fantastic game.

No clue what was up with the ice time. Giroux and Voracek are this team's offensive heart beat. Coburn is the defensive backbone. No reason they shouldn't be leading the team in ice time.

Stop calling me kid, first off. Secondly, it does make sense. You're original statement had nothing to do with nervousness or anything. Hockey isn't brand new to Akeson. He's played it his whole life. It's a basic fundamental that you keep your stick down, especially when hitting somebody. One hand on the stick, shoulder and hip into the body. Sure, the playoffs have more pressure but it isn't like this was the first time he's played the game. It was an idiotic mistake that he knows he's responsible for.

If I noticed one thing it is that we desperately need Gostisbehere. Our breakouts are putrid. Not just this game, but overall during the year I can't even count the amount of times failed breakouts/clears ended up in our net. And H ELL anything would be better than L.Schenn or Grossmann now.

Akeson had a hell of a shift going before the penalty, and actually i really liked his game tonight that withstanding.

Giroux and Simmonds were invisible.

things that are less cool than what they sound like:
grandstanding (same as reg. standing)

browbeating (0 violence)

viscous molasses (not monsters, it's just sauce. not sure if vicious molasses is a thing)

flyers hockey (where is the hockey??? must investigate further)

I can't understand how so many people don't get that. If he hadn't bounced and started falling, the stick doesn't come within 3 FEET of the guy's head.

It's a reflex you have no control over when you fall unexpectedly at a high speed on a slippery surface.

Yea he actually played a very food game and other than couturier created the most offense.

Shame one (really bad) penalty and people want him gone. Rinaldo does this all the time but the difference is Akeson is a rookie playing in his 3rd NHL game.

It's simply sad that people are questioning his play on a penalty that even out the play. It seems I have a much different definition of hockey IQ, like how the kid sees the ice, how he can play the puck in traffic and make the reasonable play. Yes, the penalty was dumb but guess what, he actually battled for the puck. Couts, Hartnell and him were the only ones willing to follow the game plan and battle along the boards. The team was ****, but everyone is right, let's place it on the shoulders of one kid.

Brayden Schenn's play.

can't win faceoffs.
falls down all over the place (almost more than Hartnell)
can't win board battles.
barely hits anymore.
can't pass.
takes penalties in garbage time.
ruins PPs.
turns over pucks in his own zone on the power-play
anything else?

Never change, Flyers fans.

For a team that was so outplayed as everyone is talking about, it was still a 1-1 game until a dumb rookie double minor with our backup goalie playing.

But this is it. It's only getting worse from here. We should've followed Messiah Richards to Los Angeles.

Anyone saying Akeson is to blame are blind. He was arguably the best forward through the first 2. Unlucky penalty. It happens but the kid is not to blame. Where was G? Where was Vinny? Where was Simmer? Not to mention Timonen was god awful.
ITS NOT OVER!!!
They need to get over the fact that they haven't won at the garden. Won't help anything. Go in there and blow them out of the building with physicality.

i said "yeah he should be thinking clearly hes only a kid in his first NHL playoff game"

there is literally no other way to interpret that other than "hes a kid in the playoffs and is nervous"

youre actually 100% wrong good job kid nice try
