Game 2

Let's do this! Let's go back to Montreal up 2-0!

Hopefully Price is more settled tonight.

Looks like we'll see a familiar face tonight in Tom Pyatt.

Habs winning tonight is just the cherry on top, they've already split away games. Hopefully habs can win it so they can go back home and finish the series. Go habs Go!

Is there ever good stuff on TSN Radio?

Robyn (one of the co-hosts, I believe) basically just said Eller was "meh" in Game-1. She said he was better than he's been all year, but that's it.

Eller was awesome, and IMO, in our top-4 players (Can't decide between our centres). IMO, we had 6 really excellent players, a few who had very good ones, and a few who had solid games in Game-1.

Excellent
Bournival
Briere
Desharnais
Eller
Gorges
Plekanec

Very Good
Gionta
Vanek
Wiese

Solid
Bourque
Emelin
Gallagher

The biggest way to improve Game #2 is;

1) Our defense needs to play better
2) Price needs to be better
3) We need to stop being so pretty - Vanek should have had about 30 shots.

Until Habs are up three games to none and leading 5-1 in game four, there is no cherry and no top.

Is anyone else feeling a bit too invested in these playoffs? I find myself planning my work day, family time, errands and exercise around game-time.

Habs are in a solid place right now. If they can go up 2-0 that would be huge!
Good to see MT rolling 4 lines and watching everyone contribute. Cut down on the mistakes!

3-1 Habs.

Pacioretty with two, Subban with one.

Stamkos opens the scoring but then Price shuts the door.

Yea, I'm going that way...

Lightning wins tonight, they'll try everything not to be down 2-0 in the series. They're going to want to bounce back and they will give it their all. We lose this 4-1. We haven't dominated a game like we did in game 1 in a long time. I got a feeling it will be harder to sustain, especially against Tampa.

Hopefully, I'm utterly wrong. If we win, I know I'll be jumping around, flailing my arms and shinning a huge grin on my face.

4-2 habs.

But honest question, if we beat Tampa are you guys afraid of any other team? Im not afraid of any other team maybe besides the Rangers. Screw the bruins, Rask is bad.

The Bolts will come out flying...if we can survive the 1st period, tied or only down 1 goal, we should be fine...Price will be better tonight, he will have alot more work to do...

Remember back in .. was it '02? The year we were playing Carolina, and Gilmour got that stupid 10-minutes for breaking the penalty box door glass?

I remember that year people were saying that when Montreal got past the 'Canes, there was no one else to stop them. Since that year, and their failure to actually get past Carolina, I've been very hesitant around that sort of thing.

Boston is an excellent hockey team. Dismissing their entire roster based on the (imo: insane) opinion that 'Rask is bad' is probably a poor idea.

So weird seeing Bourque on anything but a con list, but if he keeps it up, I will hate a little less.

4-1 Habs

Vanek
Patches
Briere
PK

I'm not sure about the Rangers... Lundqvist still makes nightmares about playing at the Bell, though Talbot was not bad the last time. Martin St-Louis usually plays great against us. I'd me more scared of the Bruins, maybe the Red Wings.

I would say teams that we don't want to play against in the East:
1- Bruins (depends if Rask chokes)
2- Philadelphia
3- Pittsburgh
4- Detroit

And it is hard to tell against the West teams, Habs performed well against some of them, but there is huge talent there, even more for a Cup matchup.

No No No No No ...
Winning tonight is a statement game. Cooper spewed a ton of crap after game one.
"Habs played their best game" and "just shots" etc.
If I'm in Habs management I'm leveraging these statements.
Stick the knife in a little bit deeper.
We all know statement one is far from the truth. Our best game starts in the crease 2 goals were suspect and Price usually eats them up for breakfast 95% of the time. Prust with no rust does not turn that puck over particularly in the playoffs. Weaver and Gallagher should and will make a simple adjustment on that pinch. I still blame Gallagher the D pinch was obviously part of the game plan I'm sure the forwards were advised to cover for them in that situation. Plecky/Gio do it in their sleep. Minimum three gifts in my mind.

As for "just shots" plecks in alone twice DD in alone once Patches in alone once DW left unattended multiple goal scrambles. I'll continue taking those "just shots" all series long.
The dumbest thing I've heard come out if a coaches mouth since well "just okay"
Watching Stevie Y's reaction/demeanor i don't think he was thinking anything close to "just shots"
I understand their coach want's to spur his team on but he should have left it at we played crap...

Nothing worse in my mind than taking the approach "already split"
I honestly believe Tampa are reeling a bit after Game 1. They weren't expecting what we brought at all.
Continue bringing it to them tonight and trust in a better Price and better overall team D decision making/execution. Our adjustments should be a lot easier to achieve than what Tampa is going to need. There is absolutely no reason not to go up 2-0.
