NHL is going to help the Pens any way they can to advance. Crosby is the face of the League. Expect a few more borderline calls to go their way.

Can't skate, don't want him.

Boone Jenner is great. No reason Laughton can't have the same impact here next season.

I honestly think he would have a hard time keeping up with those Voracek & Giroux.
I was kinda thinking since Jake and G love to carry the puck it would open up some space for him to get his shot off and he could just trail those guys. But your likely correct. I'm just hoping the flyers can add a quality LW for nothing.

Sounds like Vinny. One of him is enough.

One has to play C which the Flyers don't need, while the other plays LW which is the Flyers biggest need offensively.

Hopefully Vinny rebounds and Schenn can learn to play LW.

I don't think Laughton will get the offensive opportunities to pot 15+ goals next year like Jenner did this year but he should bring good defense, physicality, & good skating/speed to the lineup like Jenner did for Columbus this year.

The Jackets spread the ice time around much more then the Flyers do. Jenner avg'd just over 14 min a game and got almost a minute of PP times game. Laughton won't have that those opportunities so I agree he won't be making that kind of offensive contribution.

These calls are horrible. Flyers have seen some brutal calls as well (that call on Simmomds has to be one of the worst this entire season).

I could see him getting 12 minutes if he moves between the 3rd and 4th lines, but you're right he will be unlikely to put up numbers like Jenner.

Yeah I expect Laughton to get the Couturier treatment next year if he makes the team, fourth line minutes with a good dose of PK time.

It was too good to be true. He really did clean up his game, but that was a blatant as can be. Disgusting.

Well this is a nice afternoon, I get out of my 4+ hour class 2 hours early and then I get home to see the Pens losing 2-0.

As far as Laughton goes, I think I'd give him some decent responsibility next year, it's not like the Flyers avoid giving young guys big minutes (Raffl, Couturier, Read).

I'd like to see

Hartnell-Giroux-Voracek
Read-Couturier-Akeson
Schenn-Laughton-Simmonds
???-Raffl-???

Schenn and Simmonds look like they have good chemistry so I'd keep them together unless Schenn could be with Giroux. Laughton would be a good fit on that line because without them they're horrible defensively and it'd give him an opportunity to provide a bit of offense. It's not like that'd be throwing him in too deep because the G and Couts lines get most of the toughest minutes so their line would basically be the 3rd line.

2 PPs in a row for the Jackets? Is that allowed?
