Oilers-Flames Gameday Thread Oct.2/03

Tonight should be a good one, Oilers certainly should be playing a lineup that might look close to opening night. Horcoff has the hip problem, Smyth and Brewer are still hurting, but Dvorak and York should draw in.

Right?

I don't like the fact that Oilers already have injuries and the season hasn't even started yet...Aren't injuries suppose to happen when Edmonton is in position to finish 4th in the conference and end up squeaking in after 3 of the top 6 forwards get hurt...

Should be a good game...

Better we hit our injury quota before the season. Here's to smooth sailing the rest of the way. Dang, I might have just jinxed the season.

The injuries could turn into a blessing in disguise. Hear me out now.

A guy like Jason Chimera might get 2line minutes that wouldn't be available previously. Horcoff/Reasoner will get extra minutes, and both showed they could handle the puck last season.

I'd be much more worried about the Brewer injury than any up front. Brewer has to play 25-30 minutes opening night imo.

Nope, you're OK. All you did is "raise a glass" and HOPE for no more injuries. Now if you were PREDICTING your wish, you would have to jump thru all kinds of superstition hoops to get rid of the bad mojo.

I don't think there's any doubt here. Brewer has to play like a #1 or we're sunk. He has to be able to play at least 25 minutes a night... just has to.

Glad to see Allen play, but it's too late for him to make the club. btw Goon63, congrats on your guy making the team he certainly earned it.

I was hoping we wouldn't see that pairing again...you could time their wind sprints with a sundial.

Nothing against them per se, I just don't like them as a pairing.

The true question is, who would win in a race from goaline to goaline? I'd pay to see that..

That's the kind of race that REQUIRES time lapse photography...
