Now this is a proposed trade as both players headed to Edmonton have NTC's. Vote yes if you believe these players would waive their NTC's and no if not. The voting will close at 10 AM.

**Remember to P.M me all finalized trades so I can announce it. It will be more organized that way**
Good trade, guys. Edmonton gets exactly what they need for nothing that was appreciably contributing to their roster. For a franchise that needs to start winning now, this was a great move.

Vancouver gets some decent value back, but Yakupov is really the wildcard. If he's top line forward, this works out great for them.

I want to give the slight edge here to Edmonton for now.

Good deal for the Ducks. Pacioretty is a key piece now and for a while, AND you moved up in the draft.

Habs, not so sure about this one for you! Moving back in the draft and stocking up on prospects, why would you be trying to tear down the team at this point? You're in the second round! Is there another shoe that's going to drop to replace your top scorer?

I originally called about packaging 38 & 59 for 21. While we were talking about that, there was the indication that Max was available.

So, we started knocking around ideas on that front, as well.

The bottom line is that with Devante, Shea, and the 29th pick, we are giving up a lot of youth. But, we are getting back a 25yo that has multiple 30 goal seasons in the NHL. Add in that he has a long term deal and a manageable cap hit and I felt like I had to pull the trigger.

It's not like Teemu is going to play forever and we need to get some scoring depth behind Getzlaf and Perry.
FYI. Bob Murray isn't related to Bryan and Tim.

Marc Bergevin

We aren't tearing down the team, balancing the short term with long term, you need to draft well, next season things were going to be different anyway, risk of losing Vanek, Markov, and Gionta. Exists. Max alone wouldn't have been able to replace all that.

We did great this year! And we have devante coming in, Galchenyuk and Gallagher will grow, Eller is still here, bournival will be in his first full NHL season and will take a step forward!

We still have all offseason to improve the roster and free agency, we feel like getting a little younger and construct a team that can compete for the next 10 years.

We also expect big things from jarrod Tinordi next season and Nathan Bealieau will be on this team. So yes we lose a 39 goal scorer but we have lots of depth and time to replace it, we will be very active July 1 and on to continue to build up the roster for next year. Today our focus was the draft and to improve long term, it's an important aspect in drafting well

We see lots of potential today that can help us down the road, we wanted to take advantage of that. We really like the 1st 2 rounds of the draft and wanted to add picks. Now we have 3 plus Shea Theodore so we accomplishes a lot

I concur only from the perspective that less than 24 hours ago we weren't supposed to even be negotiating, and now the picks are going to start disappearing off the board.

I think a little negotiating lead-in time is appropriate.

Toronto would like to move into the high 2nd round. Plenty of overpaid wingers and mediocre defensemen to be had. Get at me.

When you phrase it like that, a deal seems so enticing.

San Jose has no use for overpaid wingers dead from the neck up and milquetoast defensemen.

San Jose would like to move up a little in the first round, but will wait to see who is left on the board circa number 17 or so.

Florida’s GM krt88 released a statement

The Florida Panthers are excited to have acquired a player of the calibre of Evander Kane. Though parting with the first pick overall was a difficult decision, we feel that this makes us a better, more competitive hockey team and gives us a first linger winger. We were also able to acquire a young veteran defensemen in Paul Postma, who will provide us some additional leadership on our back-end and a young goaltending prospect we are excited about. Furthermore, the #9 overall pick will bring a quality player we can develop over the coming years.

Good afternoon fans of the Winnipeg Jets,

First off we want to wish all the best to winger Evander Kane, he was a terrific soldier for us.
This is a major turning point for the organization, however there may be some suffering in the coming years, err uhh, no but some patience will be required.
With the first overall pick this year we will be selecting a terrific player who has an A in his first name.
This is just the beginning.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww wwwwllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll lllll

This trade seems very one sided.. Islanders are 100% tanking. Snow did it again. Suffer on Islanders.. Suffer on.. God Speed.
