My brain says we should go for the later. Nobody will care about injuries down the road, so let's maximize our chances of winning it all!

If Detroit makes a proper challenge and that series becomes a war it could either hurt the winner with injuries or help them with momentum. Habs will have had a week off.

I want Detroit myself. Poll?

Detroit. The Red Wings play with speed and skill like the Habs. It would be an exciting match up.

The Bruins play with thugs and dirty goons. The Habs would have injuries from their cheap shots, and would probably be missing some key players in the later rounds, after they beat the Bruins.

I have no idea what to expect in a Habs bruins series but to use the tampa series as affirmation that we will beat the bruins is not smart. Tampa was a very easy opponent. The Bruins will be a far greater test. I don't get why some people are so cocky. That week off won't be helpful either. We won't be able to roll all 4 lines against the bruins. Bouillion/weaver will be challenged. Rask ois no lindback either. Boston is still beatable but it won't be a walk in the park like some fans have suggested.

I think it's a moot point who we want to face; we'll get the Bruins. They finally brought their "A" game last night and handled the Wings pretty easily. If that continues, it won't go past 5.

Yeah, Bruins will win that series in 5.

Time for another Habs-Bruins playoff series.

I was talking to my wife about it last night and she already knows my feelings towards the Bruins and their fans. I told her that my mood is going to be much different during the next series (against Boston) than it was against Tampa. Intensity will definitely be increased.

Detroit. They play clean.

If we play Boston one of our players will leave the ice on a stretcher.

I'm going with Detroit. It'll be a great series and both teams have class. Worried a little abut Babcock knowing tendencies of Price after Sochi, but Boston is the type of team if you outplay them they will try to injure you....

This is so true the Habs & Detroit have world class, but the Bruins have missed class, they have homework to do in that area, IMO.

Boston is dirty, will always be dirty.

We can beat them in the playoffs but there will be collateral damage.

Murray would get a chance to play though

It would be so nice to beat them though when the media, and fans from other teams, have basically all said "no need to play the playoffs this year, just hand Boston the cup."

Detroit. They play the same style as us and we're better at it I think.

Boston can be had.
We have the style of play and the seed of doubt that can unhinge them.
Play hard Whistle to Whistle remain disciplined and at all costs do not engage in any of the extracurricular crap Boston uses to wear down opponents.

With the consistent all-in defensive play we've seen over the last 4 games, I'm pretty confident no matter who we play.

As an side, hearing how Detroit is playing Boston i.e. not engaging them and focusing on keeping even keeled - it strikes me that coming from the West, Babcock doesn't really understand how to win against them

Simply, if you want to beat the Bear, you need to poke Bear. Just make sure you skate like the wind and have a platinum plated jockstrap and you'll be ok.

I prefer the Bs I do not like playing the wings they seem to be able to counter pretty much everything we do.

Bruins are going to be a entertaining series win or lose. The games always have a ton of drama. Hopefully Habs can pull it off. Beating them and hearing all the tears from the Bruins players/management/fans would be the closest thing to winning the cup.
