Stan Fischler Hate Thread

After predicting Brian Leetch would be signed by the Fishsticks, and so convinced that this was the case - Leetchy chose Boston, and he said this to justify his stupid prediction.

"Brian Leetch might have been an Islander, but he didn't overly impress Mike Milbury. In my mind Milbury is better off without Leetch, and with a steady defensman in Brad Lukowich - much more effective than old Leetchy boy ever would've been."

Brad Lukowich!?!? Steady!? More EFFECTIVE??? yeah hes a defensive defenseman, but with the new rules I would take a 45 year old Leetch over a Brad Lukowich. Are you kidding me Stan??!

Leetch may have visited the Islanders but Im sure it crossed his mind that he couldnt bear to be on the Islanders side of the rivalry when that night came along, and he was entering the Garden for the first time, wearing an Islanders sweater, or should i say - poncho. That was the reason he didnt "overly impress" Stan.

Fischler should be donated to burn victims for skin graft because all he is right now is a waste of skin.

The guy sucks. Hockey just can't seem to get it's ***** straight, can it?
A lockout, lame TV contract after lame TV contract, and the most annoying human being on the face of the planet as its "unofficial historian".

Fischler is like a mini-Larrry Brooks. He creates his own reality at times to make himself look better.

It seems that the Isles at least inquired about Leetch. As I hear it, and think it is probably true...Leetch was not interested in the Isles b/c he is a Ranger at heart...even if he loathes Sather, he won't play for the "enemy" and wanted an original 6 team...which left Detroit and Boston as the biggest competition for his services.

Brooks doesn't speak in absolutes.

Fischler said the Ducks were trading the #2 pick for Pronger.

Stan claims things as fact.

Brooks sometimes gets something right. Fischler is the know-it-all who's never right.

I see no difference. One speaks in the tone of hot air, the other writes in it. And i think Larry's columns do indeed carry a tone of absolutes.

Stan was not the source of the #2 for Pronger. He merely reguirgitated it a la Garrioch. it was all over Canoe, Rocky Mountain news outlets, LA news links, and such. With Pronger clearly on the market, and the rumormill churning, do you think they prob made the offer?? I do. Please show me where it was announced by him as a factual trade and not a behind the scenes snippet of rumormill that he proposes time to time.

I Want to kick Stan in the throat....
Then drop my 16 lb bowling ball on his teeth
After he rolls over and you see the bowling ball print on his face I will strip him nude, tie him up and hang him from the Mausileum rafters next to those old Stanleycup rags.

Finally a place to vent.

THE WORST. I REFUSE EVEN TO DIGNIFY HIS NAME BY TYPING IT.

The clown has ZERO personal integrity. His entire shtick, which only the morons at Cablevision could actually pay MONEY for, is to sit around his living room saying to himself, "OK, now what's the most ridiculous and outlandish thing I can possibly say that still just MIGHT come true and will get the most fools all worked up until my NEXT fabulous fiction"? This turd is his own one-man fantasy league. The Hockey News let him go 30 years ago... is MSG his pension plan????????

I may watch games with the sound off this year...or MAYBE with radio on.... but...

IS there a replacement for Mullen yet???

Geez... I thought NY was the media capital of the world, and yet we have Fischler and Davidson. AND Fran Healy, but that's another deal altogether........

Fischler calls himself The Maven but his judgment of hockey players' skills is poor. He is also a lazy cheapskate who has a history of exploiting eager young people who serve as unpaid interns while doing his donkey work.

Ok...I know Stan is a little out there. But being that I knew him, there's a method to his madness.

A lot of what you see is schtick. He's a half glass full kind of guy. So, whenever a local makes a move, it's always sugarcoated.

I highly doubt Stan really believes half the stuff he says.

And at times, he can be really annoying with the stuff he writes. So I hear you on that. But you can't always take everything he says to heart.

Any so-called hockey historian who can say that Brad Lukowich is better than Brian Leetch is just a plain A$$. I'd like to take a slapshot at his denture wearing mouth

I don't know why but I like Stan. He usually adds a lot of comedy to the show with his crazy props. Even I though as a non-stan hater have to say he has started to lose his mind when the lockout began. First his crazy obsession with Goodennow, then his crazy predictions, then this stupid talk about Leetch.

Kenny Albert told Sid and Joe a few weeks back that Dave Maloney will be his new partner on the Rangers' radio braodcasts.

This guy is probably the most annoying guy I see on television during hockey season, and that's saying a lot since I also watch Devils games sometimes and get to listen to Mike Emmerick and Chico Resch, which is some sort of cruel punishment itself. I would never take anything Fischler says seriously, especially when it comes to trade rumors and evaluating players. Retire already, STan.

Does anyone know when Howie Rose's contract is up with the Islanders? Im not a big fan of the Alberts doing play by play hockey. Kenny's ok, but Howie is GREAT on the radio. I wish we could get him back.

They ought to replace this clown with someone like Glenn Healey. That guy was born to do TV work. One of the funniest people around.
