We are now 4-13 When....

Chris Lee is officiating our game. On our way back to 500 Lee. 12 more wins, for the 25th cup. GO HABS GO!

Hopefully Lee isn't around in Round 2 and we can pick up win #5 next season.

Those guys probably let 6 clear-cut penalties go against the Bolts, and maybe only 2 against the Habs, as part of their whistle-swallowing feat to close out the game. Of course, everybody focuses on the one they did finally call. But it would have been controversial the other way if the Habs had been playing a tougher opponent, alas. I don't want any part of Chris Lee the rest of the playoffs.

And he handed us the win by giving us a power play with under 5 minutes left in the game. (For those that don't know, PP's with less then 5 minutes left in a game are better than any other time of the game because the team on the power play is guaranteed a goal. Therefore calling a penalty at said time shall be referred to as "handing the win" to the team going on the power play)

Ladies and gentlemen, we've even got Chris Lee on board now

He really is not a great reff. It isn't the clear hate against the Habs that makes me mad.. It is his blindness towards the play.

Lee keeping his whistle quiet for most of the game is the best the Habs could hope for. Apparently, he hates the Lightning enough that only one fishy call against the Habs was called.

Before saying Lee was the one who called the trip, let's make sure it was really the ref wearing #28 and not the other ref whose hand went up.

it really was Lee who made the call bud. Not the 'Quebecer Ref' that facebook keeps spewing on about haha (St Laurent is from ottawa)

TSN was saying it was St.Laurent this morning. I didn't take note during the game. But they made a particular point of noting "Francois St.Laurent" (properly pronounced) made the call.

At least St Laurent wasn't scared to call a penalty on fellow Quebecer Rene Bourque early in the game. Or was it St Laurent? I'm confused. What the hell was that penalty for anyways? CBC couldn't seem to find a replay for it.

I was watching a crappy stream, whereas those with HDTVs might have been able to catch the number or face of the ref.

I don't know if you ever read other boards but apparently the Habs always get powerplays in the last 5 minutes. And of course those power plays are just not right because they have more impact on a game then a power play in the middle of the first or start of the second, etc.

Chris Lee is beyone awful, usually vs the Habs, but in general...

A question guys, do you agree with the officials " putting the whistles away " like they did last night in the 3rd? Only, to have one of them, eventually not let it go on anymore?

Is a penatly a penalty, no matter what time of the game or score?

Does the NFL not call pass interference with 1.00 to go in a 21-21 game between Denver/New England? Of course they call it...so should the NHL and the refs do the same? This let them play stuff is crap in my books...just be consistant...

Actually i might be wrong but Lee did not call this penality the other ref did.

Lee did let the players play. Not a bad thing against TB as this is not a physical team. But this 4th game with no call would have been terrible against the Bruins as Lucie would have been able to do what she wanted without getting any penality.

If i recall well during the game Pierre Houde from RDS said it was ST Laurent too.

it is amazing the amount of weird calls that get made in a game that Chris Lee is part of.

I think he is more of a wild card that McGoo and Frazer, back in the day.

Are you sarcastic when you say Rene Bourque is a Quebecer?

That phantom hand pass he called on Stamkos down low was brutal. Shook my head when he turned away the complaining Tampa player with such confidence.

Reminds me of when Michel Bergeron was speaking of that good Quebec native kid Patrick Marleau.

Part of the "charm" of hockey tradition. Today, that sort of thing should stop.

Yes. It was a joke because I was quoting the guy who noted that St Laurent was not from Quebec.
