Necessary re: McPhee, but too late - should have made the change after the Hunter fiasco.

Oates, well, not impressed by him.

I was told a few years ago by someone who spoke to someone who would know (yeah, I know) that there were a lot of problems behind the scenes with the organization, communication being a large issue. Really need a culture change at Kettler. This is a step towards that.

I think the 24/7 with the Pittsburgh lead up was telling in terms of how the Pittsburgh coach and GM communicated. Maybe GMGM did that too, but the show didn't show it? I doubt it, but that was telling, to me.

Chesnokov in a radio interview says to expect more announcements (hires) soon. Within the next week I'd guess. It sounded a bit speculative but he was pretty much right on top of these moves.

it will be really interesting to see what the new chapter brings to the boards here. we have to wait for next May before we can judge if anything has really changed, but til then the conversation will be interesting.

I wonder if this spells the end of Grabo in DC.

I think they didn't show it. instead they showed McPhee talking rink side with I think Boudreau and the trainer about the injuries and so forth.

I'd love to have seen a meeting between McPhee and Oates were Oates insists he isn't going to use Erat or Wilson or Penner or Perreault beyond the 4th line.

Honestly surprised they did it on a Saturday. I thought for sure they'd wait for a business day.

Ding dong, the witch is dead!

To be honest, I'm nervous. GMGM has been the GM for half my life! Change is scary!

With Kulemin? Why would that spell the end of it? Bringing Kulemin in would allow us to get rid of other forwards for D help, or he's Penner's replacement.

I feel really bad for Adam Oates. OV's resurgence and caps' deadly PP is quite enough to admit him as a very good coach.

either it leaked and they wanted it announced before tsn got it loose or they wanted to keep the noise down.

I have no idea why these threads are stickied...were they really going to sink below the front page otherwise or something?
